This being the first time I can even think about going somewhere I would like to have a great experience for a long boarder . I would like to go out of the u.s and really just surf ! Tell me where to go,,, ( to surf)
what's up Antoine... well i mean do you think you'll be making your trip solo? or you got some buddies that want to do this as well? are they the adventurous type? what about yourself, you fairly adventurous? well my first suggestion would be surfing in and around Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. but wait, PR isn't outside the U.S. well... it's got more in common with a progressive third-world nation than it does with anywhere stateside. there is still (and probably always going to be) a vibe down there that would suggest you are in a chilled out, tropical Caribbean island nation. the reason i say PR is that there's one spot down there in particular called Wilderness, and it is a longboard heaven. it's a predominant right, but there are lefts mixed in up and down the beach. waist to a foot over head, it's just such an ideal longboard spot. it can get crowded, but the vibe is mellow. get there at daybreak and you'll be surfing with less than 20 people for a couple of hours. there's a man down there named Tom Luker, he's got places to stay and is an invaluable, trusted individual. here's a link to his place http://www.lukersurfpr.com/ and this is another website to check out the daily surf reports through photos http://911surfreport.com/2013/03/27/nw-puerto-rico-surf-report-6/ so PR would be high on my list, especially if you are going solo. i also think you would like the southern zone of Costa Rica. specifically Pavones and Matapalo. a world-class left and right point respectively. they sit across from each other in the Golfo Dulce. this would probably be more of a trip of a lifetime, just because of all the surrounding nature and relative isolation where these spots are located. don't confuse "isolated" with lack of crowds, because both spots can really fill out when there's a hint of swell in the water. to this day, i don't know if i've ever scored better surf than a few days down in Matapalo back in the early 2000's. it was unreal. so that's about all the advice i've got. i just got through erasing a third paragraph about some places in Mexico, but then i remembered that as surfers, there's just some places we've got to shut up about and just let nature take it's course. i've been very fortunate to travel a good bit (compared to my friends) back when i was a little younger, and all i can tell you is that the best trips i've gone on were the ones that i barely planned for. the ones where you just go. for better or for worse. you'll find your way, and probably learn more about yourself in a week or two than you could hanging out in your hometown for the rest of the year. so good luck to you, and i'm interested to see any other responses we get on here from the other members. i'm not much of a longboarder, but i wish i could show up with one tomorrow at Wilderness if that meant i got to be in PR!!

Sweet advice (johnnydon'tsurf) I checked out lukersurf and it appears to be right on track with what I think I want. You're right again with just go and figure it out so I will do just that.. Even though I may be goin solo i believe i will have few problems ,I am pretty chill when it comes to attitude I can fit in where I need to and since I am lookin to start having some awesome adventures this place looks great. I am planning for about a week of stay for the trip . they look like they have a good selection of board rentals so I may not travel with mine I haven't looked at what the travel price for my 10`0 would be . Any Idea? And thanks for the great advice!
Hey just got back from PR and the place is great. Mainly nw breaks hitting this time of year. Ricon breaks fun as well. Going back in late oct. go to rinconsurfreport.com. They had a huge yearly by day photos of different breaks. Oh by the way rent a car it's well worth it to get on some bigger cleaner waves.
