for the quad fishy-type thing i like the future scimitar fins with the original straight-up rear fins instead of the newer hatchet rear fins.i can actually feel them lock in and hold when i start to lose it on critical suck-out sections.
Get on the finatic thing! Zach like i mentioned to you before man, get on the finatic program $10 a month, try everything FCS makes and no hassling driving fins back to the shop to get your credit card cleared. What are doing taking a that board out in steep surf, you got a little round tail shortboard somewhere I am sure. But it is hard not to ride new boards with all the pop and drive they generate being new and all.
Yeah, i completely agree. It was pretty good out today so I am back on my squash tail 6'1 thurster.... I just know that the fish design was created in San Diego and originally designed specifially for the waves we get here. I see guys on twinnies in EVERY condition, and they usually have a pretty good style. I just wanted to really get the board dialed in, and an important part of getting the feel for each board is just riding it everyday for a while. When its big, when its small, when its hollow, when its mushy, cause you really wont know how the board responds until you just do it.... But yeah, I was back on my potato chip thruster today and the performance was at 100% no doubt. It was overhead and perfect high-perf shortboard conditions. Its just one of those things, I see guys riding fishes at certain spots when its DOH... I have been getting tons of waves on the thing no matter what the conditions are, but its the little things that I am trying to break down. The ankle tweeks, the inch here, inch there in a turn that adds up to me. Its just good to know. The board was purchased to become my everyday mush/small day board to eliminate the need of a LB (although I love the LB every now and again)... But like you said, its damn hard to sit there stairing at a brand new board everyday as you grab the 4th board back in your quiver. I am glad I used my brain today and made the proper board selection. It made my day!
thats why we have them Thats why we have quivers, boards for certain conditions. I am jelous as hell that you are getting to choose what board to ride in great over head condtions lol. The potato chip thruster has its uses, unfourtunately i rarely have a need.
