Fishing threade

threw chunks yesterday for a couple hours before dark...crabs are horrible...skates.

 

think this moon has it mixed up a bit

 

This and the crazy ass high water level has ruined fishing this week. I can see trout in the creeks ignoring my bait. And flounder are just letting it roll of their backs.

 

Yeah that's one thing about stripers, if they are there they are gonna hit. Frustrating when they aren't around or just out of reach.

 

yeah i slayed the bass in monmouth sun then yesterday i casted for 4 hrs and caught 1 blue

 

Thought I saw a few shad again yesterday, but not the big schools I'd seen last week, and nothing eating them.

 

this cold snap Monday will change fishing for the better

 

There were big pods again this morning up and down the beach... Sh!t ton of boats from LB to deal, but I didn't hang around to see how it was going.
Waves looked fun as well, but is was a little deep. Should be fun this afternoon.

Went out this afternoon for a couple of hours. Spent the first hour looking for them and finally when I was about to give up I saw them on side imaging. Picked 8 from the school, nothing big maybe 19 inches. Without a good sonar you are sunk on days like this. They were in a very odd place where I have never found them before, a very specific, small confined spot. Here is a video, kinda long, 5 minutes but it shows it in real time other than 2 or 3 fish on either side of when I turned on the camera. Thanks guys, yeah I went to the route 90 bridge today. There was a guy doing road work above me that was watching as the fish rolled on my lure. He kept yelling out to me, funny.

 

Took a break from surfing and fished today on the beach...freakin doggies were thick.

 

Check this out. So I was moving around the rocks picking up a few fish this afternoon, nothing big but consistent action. As I was getting a little cold and near ready to head back I decided to cruise around and use the sonar to find a concentration of fish. I finally found a huge school just hanging in a hole. After I got over them with my trolling motor I spent 25 minutes catching and releasing small stripers, nothing bigger than 15 inches in this school but whatever it was fun. The most interesting thing about this bite was you didn't even have to move the lure, just drop it down above their heads and you could feel them biting it. All were caught on a 4 inch storm lure. Thanks! I was hoping there was a monster under the dinks but none showed up. I have had that in the past when the big ones were hugging the bottom right under the little guys.
