Schoolie stripers is what i was talking about. I took to google maps to try to find the spot my brother and i were fishing and was able to find it and youre exactly right its just below south bound brook. Are you familiar with that area?
It's the only thing that keeps me sane because I haven't surfed in *&%$##% months. Praying for an early start to tropical season here and on the EC. I will be taking time off when the swirling starts!
Yep, probably have fished every river, beach, bay, lake, pond and nook and cranny of NJ. The beautiful cesspool that it be
I've been a few times around IRI and nothing. Lately you have to be in the right place at the right time
Same here lately. Things have cooled down for now. But the water temps are still cool enough to get lucky, so keep at it!
anybody been lucky as of late? Gaston is acting as a nice distraction to what I hope is the end of the dog days. It's been porgy with the occasional chomper blue for the last few weeks here in the Western LIS. Anything biting at people's honey hole?
Ive been doing well on short stripers up to 25 inches in OCMD and lots and lots of Croaker and snapper blues. Not too keen on all the surging tides from the storms so have been sitting back over the past week.
I did great on saturday with drum. Caught about 10 in an hour. Found a large school. Using a pinfish and a flounder rig for a set up.
Striper season is officially kicked off in mo.co. Bass came in last night for a 5 min. blitz! Just spent two hours catching herring waiting for the bass to come in again with no luck. I think they'll rape that herring again at first light... Can I get a HELL YEAH!!! #lovethefallrun!
Surf fishing in md...if there is no surf Friday, which is likely, gonna try for an early striper...maybe even hopes of getting a puppy drum. Don't think I ever caught a keeper striper in October in our area, but always managed some the first week in November.
Still bluefish blitzing up in the Sound. Haven't been out in a while but you can walk across the bunker.
