Fixing my snapped Haydenshapes...

The problem with a snap right between your feet is the flex is forever ****ed. The reason you can fix snaps above your front foot is it really doesnt affect the board feel.

 

the spray adhesive will continue to volatize/off gas and create air pockets especially when exposed to sunlight...prolly turn the area yellow as well

glassing will not stick to any area sprayed with adhesive

that board will be heavy as fvck

it will break again because .... well......well because of some engineering words that i never learned because i quit school in 10th grade. but yeah, d!cks to dollars says it breaks again in the same spot if you actually try to ride it.

That bort is UGLY! However, I like riding ugly boards; they have character and show they have been surfed and been repaired and at least attempt to live another day. Not that you are searching for approval or compliments, but I bet you'll get more stoke comments when you surf that board than if you had a brand new bort...

You do know that the Cobra factory in Thailand craps out 80 of those Haydens every week including holidays.
Kind of like wrapping a Hyundai around a tree and trying to put it back on the road IMHO.
Bless his heart, L4T just likes to get his fingers sticky and honestly I concur. Looks like a nice little shape shack, why not get an EPS blank from LBC and build a clone?

Some truth to this. Still... it's used in the industry all the time, good or bad.

But really... does it matter? It's a broken board... he could still get the best barrel of his life on it!

 

i don't think it matters one bit as far as this repair is concerned imo

i am surprised someone would go through all this effort. that's what really got me going.... i mean hey, if livefortruth has the patience to do all that ......then good for him.

i would have taken the fins, ripped the traction off on the beach, thrown the board in the garbage and later used the spray adhesive for re-sticking the traction to another board. that's just me tho.

i hope he keeps us updated.
