I dont know if its really his attitude. He may seem sorta "whatever" about things but its not like he comes across like a conceited prick. You gotta think, his whole family is pretty much surfing royalty, and they all genuinely rip. Coming up in that way and having people always on your jock just cause of your name would be weird. Im sure he must deal with peoples assumptions because of his family tree and history. Granted he was born into what he was born into but I doubt he was forced into surfing or skating. He kinda just went with what his world has been by default. He has leaned more towards skating for whatever reason and his family have given him the love and support to flourish. Its all so natural that he doesnt really see it as any big deal. He didnt say he didnt like surfing at all, he just goes with what he is in the mood for. Not a bad way to have a life. I like that his G mom is making him aware of the business side of things. Some would call him very fortunate. He does rip. Uncontrollably. So fun to watch skate. I think he will do alot for skating. One of the very few young guys bringing old school kinda style and throwing down fluid "new school" tricks. And doing it very well. If he starts surfing more and chooses to focus on it, I have no doubt we will all be looking at the video footage and pictures saying, "No way! what the.... , that dude is killing it"! I dont think he doesnt give a dam, I just think he doesnt fully get how/why people outside of his world make such a big deal about where he comes from and who his family is and stuff. To him its just what he does, who his family is and who he is.
