Flight attendants

work slow or something?

Winds so strong right now, you should have some good ones this evening.

 

There are actually several reasons for this.

Flight Attendant starting pay is dismal. At a commuter or regional airline like Skywest or Trans States they make about 17k a year. At Spirit or JetBlue it might be 20 to 25k.

At the legacy airlines-Delta, United etc. there have been furloughs, mergers etc which have left only the more senior FA's employed.

It has become a ****tier job: TSA, unruly passengers, and just the basic crappiness of air travel has made passenger aviation the equivalent of working at GreyHound.

They used to hire them for their looks and pay them well. That stopped. Now it's all gheys and old hags. Hooters or Tilted Kilt should start an airline.

Ya, they used to be way hotter and younger on average. It's a total seniority system, so when the airlines started cutbacks, most of the young ones got the boot. Flying in general sucks now. My first trip to Costa Rica in the early nineties was a total party in the back of the plane. Free drinks, food, smoking, flight attendents hanging out just talking to everyone. It was a much different atmosphere than it is today.

 

Ditto, even on the legacy carriers back in the late 80's to mid 90's. And the Laker Skytrain was a total party zoo on every flight NYC-LHR.

Hooked up w a Continental FA, she was outta Denver, hot lil dirty blonde FA. Also spent some quality time, lol, with an Israeli FA who I met on a flight from TLV to ATL she was smokin, originally from Yemen.

Sadly, as you guys have noted it's FA grey hair & anger up there in the not so friendly skies. Happy travels spicoli.

 

true story - first flight out merca EVER - MIAMI/NASSAU - the attendant spent the flight on the
pilots lap and both were drinking and drunk. (she WAS hot...).

 

The AA FAs used to come drink with us in Biz Class. The bad old daze were the good old daze.

keeping in mind i was about 18 and it was my first flight out of merca; i was like...ok, so this is international
travel. i like it.

 

Emass, your frequent travels suggest to many here that you are probably self-sufficient at the least, and loaded like Bill Gates at the most. Speaking on behalf of SI, we believe that you should start your own airline and proceed to load up with hot stewardesses with a wide ethnic spectrum...and no surfboard fees.

You can call it "Wahine Airlines".
