The public supports universal background checks and tighter restrictions on certain kinds of weapons. But American government simply isn’t designed to directly convert public opinion into policy. Instead, it’s a playing field where the greatest advantage goes to the most organized and aggressive interests. (NRA /republicans) Do everything on the clean government agenda—take money out of politics, break up megabanks and monopolies—and that fact is still true.
The entire landscape of modern gun politics—from the Republican Party’s commitment to expansive gun rights to the real reticence with which Democrats have largely approached the issue—is a testament to the incredible success of the collective gun rights movement, from individual voters and activists to gun manufacturers and institutional forces like the NRA. President Obama could barnstorm the country and denounce every Republican who opposes background checks, and it wouldn’t change the extent to which the organized gun-rights movement has its fingers on the vital pressure points of American politics.

I respect the Constitution which is based on natural law. Assimilated? I was born a US citizen whose father and grandfather, both whom served in the the US armed forces and fought in Vietnam and World War II respectively, to defend the Constitution.

Depends. If a law is immoral, why give respect to that which is wrong.
I mean being a law abiding citizen should be pretty. Just as long as I dont hurt anyone and respect their private property, i should be ok.
Doesnt quite work the way here.

Natural law is the actual law. All other laws aren't actual laws. Any other law is not really a law, its actually a statute. There is a big difference.
In no way am I advocating anyone go out and break statutory law. Breaking statutory law will land you in prison, it doesnt mean you have to respect it, and it doesnt mean that statute is moral.
Do you believe you should be forced into court, your motor vehicle impounded, and pay a hefty fine or possibly imprisonment if you forgot to renew a piece of paper that has a picture of you on it by a certain date, even though you have never had so much as a parking ticket, and you were a safe courteous driver all your life and clearly not a threat to anyone's safety?
Do you think a grandmother should have her house seized and her thrown onto the street b/c she was behind a couple months on the property tax, even though the house and/or property has been in the family for generations?
Do you respect your tax dollars paying for the death of innocent children?
Do you think a whistle blower should go to jail for exposing the immoral crimes of the government?
I could go on, so do me and yourself a favor and learn your history and understand that the government has overreached its authority and imposed statutes on the citizens that dont benefit its citizens.
PJ do you even know the history of The Federal Reserve? And how since it's inception it has basically made all of us slaves to the system?
We have laws imposed on us that fly in the face of the constitution.
Please learn your history. Those who dont know their history are doomed to repeat it.

If someone finds natural law immoral, that person is immoral.
C'mon man do you even know what natural law is? This nation was founded on it. That's what made America the free-est nation on earth.
    PJ please educate yourself.

So you are saying these religious peoples have to respect natural law that was written 200+ years ago that says that people have the right to freedom of religion. Their religion has a natural law that was written thousands of years ago but they cannot not follow it here. Not following natural law makes someone immoral but it is OK to not respect the laws that were made to upkeep that natural law if you don't believe it to be a good idea. It's OK to break these laws but if you do you will face from a Justice system you seem to believe to be corrupt and broken. All of this is due to a political system that has meddled in the affairs of other countries since the 30's for personal gain. This system has created such enemies that we must all be armed and vigilant all the time but also believe the Vietnam war was to defend the constitution?

    OK
I'm going to stick with the idea that nutzies shouldn't have easy access to the boom boom sticks anymore. Seems like a good idea. Don't care why they want them. Don't care who is to blame.

Thanks for trying to educate me. I'm just not going to buy what you are selling. I've listened to you and asked questions but nothing you say makes sense and appears to double back on itself. It's very sophomoric. Almost like you are just rattling off things you heard but not thinking on your own at all. It is apparent when I ask a question based on something you say which would seem to contradict something else you said earlier. It sets you off on a tangent and you don't really answer the question. You just spout off more sh!t you read. Very unfocused really.

Islam is not a religion!!!!!!!! It's a cultural ideology.
There belief in how society should be constructed is in contrast to American values.
You say their cultural ideology should be respected in this country even if being gay is punishable by death?!!!!
My God!!! What the fuk is wrong with you????!!!!!
Try going to Saudi Arabia with your girl and let her walk around in shorts and a tank top, she will be raped to death, and you will be tortured to death for not disciplining her.

As far as the Vietnam war goes, a lot of soildiers thought they were defending this country.
You denounce them for their actions from the luxury of what we now know about Vietnam that the public wasn't aware of then.
Fukin Traitor!!!!!! Go move to Saudi Arabia!!!!!

    See what I mean?
You just want to argue. You don't want to solve anything. You're interested in making people afraid and telling people who's to blame for it all. but your rhetoric seems irrational. Are you trying to convince me you are right? everything you say and they way you say it has completely convinced me otherwise.
