No, but back in the 80's I am pretty sure I saw Kenny bash a guy on the in the head with one at the jetties one day. I certainly could have been mistaken, might have been from a different shaper (what with the water in my eyes in all)... but the guy has been surfing there a long time and should have a good bead on the wave. Of course, you know, his family used to own Mr. Surf's back in its golden age.
I did not know that... I moved here two years ago and have been enjoying the swells down at the jetties every time it comes in and have started taking my son. I stopped by Tony's shop (the new owner of Mr. Surfs) and he is asking A-LOT for anything good and Laura down at Liquid Planet didn't have what I was looking for. I refuse to by a CNC Pop out from Ron Jon and no offence to RC but his boards are not meant to last. All of this led me to Kenny, I have to say he is a very friendly guy who knows his buisness. He is also shaping me a custom stick that both my son or I can ride at a solid price!
The Brown's were all very good to me and my friends while growing up there. I would certainly talk with Kenny. You can also check over here in Pensacola with Rick Bullock, The Yancy Spencer boards from Innerlight and Sean's boards from Waterboyz. It'd be worth a run over before buying.
Thank you very much! A buddy of mine used to shape for waterboyz, I didn't relize they were still around.
