https://www.lily.camera This is actually worth owning. Could be a good training tool as well. See where you are making mistakes, without needing a friend to film you.
Yeah that thing stomps GoPro's ass. What if it gets out of control and smacks you or someone else in the head? Also while surfing I would not want to wear that big ol watch thing.
20 minutes of fly time? Yesterday I was sitting for 30 minutes waiting for a set. Imagine that thing hovering over you and realizing that the time was running out and having to paddle in to catch it before it hit the drink. You know as you were paddling in the set of the day would go off just outside of you and the only video you would have was you getting your *ss handed to you.
If you're good enough (not sayin' I am) other people will video for you. I can see where it would be good, if not a little painful, to watch video of ones self to figure out what you're doing right/wrong on a wave. I personally have been working on my chop hop.lolz
I am sure battery life will be improved in the future. I just think the concept is pretty cool. Yes, I am a nerd.
I like my Soloshot and have gotten to like my style when watching the videos. In the beginning it was like hearing your recorded voice for the first time, uhhhgg.
how is this less kooky than a gopro? Imagine sitting in a crowded aggressive lineup and you're the bozo with the drone flying above your head. at least with the gopro you can sit with the nose of your board in the water so its not constantly visible. but with all that being said... I think both gopro and this shadow drone thing are cool.
