frisco pier is a good spot, but the pier just collapsed durring earl, most of it's still standing, but still there might be alot of drift wood out in the water. If there is, move south and check all the beach ramps and find a braker

'obx' is the new jersey part, nags head on up,not the outer banks.
the Outer Banks is Hatteras Island,so technically he is correct.
    got your obx right here

Billy Mitchell... Hatteras Man... Honestly though... frisco is like really small... its only a few miles if even that... so you can check everywhere pretty easily

    if you have to ask...
i drive 410 miles to Buxton, the Cape, because of the new jersey-ization of the outer banks from nags head on up.

that's obx, every loser in nj has the eurotrash sticker on their car from their one trip they took to nags head or duck.
The Hatterasman,an old book, makes the statement that north of oregon inlet is not the outer banks, though Ben Dixon MacNeill is just making his point, and Fern, the old waitress, told us about the new-jerseyization years ago when we were eating at Billy's Fish House, and Cape Point Exxon had the 'got your OBX right here' stickers...
i could go on forever,as anyone reading my nonsense knows all too well, sorry, but if i vacationed anywhere from Nags Head up i might as well stay home, it's nicer here...
the Hatteras locals would probably understand where i'm coming from...

Im from va beach but have a house in kill devil hills and never actually make it down as far as frisco... I have heard about the cove and the point alot but never have made it down there... usually get around rodanthe and find a spot but it looks like its going to be blown out on the east facing beaches. OBX? corolla to hatteras is what I say... Been coming down here for 15 years so all you new jersey headz stop hatin'...

double it and subtract one (if you can find your slide rule). Iv been surfing the outer banks for about 13 years of it - so I DO know what I'm talking about.

Dude is right, historically, the "outer banks" stretches from the C Bonner bridge south, past ocracoke to portsmouth island. North of the inlet was considered the "north american mainland", even though it is separated by a bridge. The tourists wouldn't understand that sticker.

PS, i hope you enjoyed the drive from jersey to get sloppy side-shore storm chop. I saw this coming days ago, right here on SWELLINFO.COM.

    "OBX" sticker = kook
    "12" sticker = surfer
    "shimano reels" sticker = local.

technically, obx is va/nc line to ocracoke. but most people differentiate north of oregon inlet as obx and south of the bonner bridge as hatteras island (HI). south of ocracoke it's called "core banks".

this thread is amusing me to no end...i love that it's folks who don't even lie there debate what does or doesn't constitute the outer banks!

& just to throw fuel on the fire, i've found that most of the people in duck, corolla, southern shores, etc...are from northern nj or pa. personally, i prefer to be a bit more south than that. i keep a house in buxton near the old coastie base.

I do. ;) And it was my FIRST trip ever down there. Shows how far you'll get if you don't act like a kook and be cool to the locals. I even accidentally wandered through a bird protection area (yikes!!!!!) and still got hooked up. Or maybe that got me more street credit hahaha. If the guy who clued me in is on here, thanks by the way. That park ranger jeep passed me like 2 more times, and I was just waiting to be cuffed for being an idiot! I kinda wish the Amsterdam flag guy was there so I could see him through a hissyfit for all the bird poop I disturbed along the way.

Anyhow, back to the original topic...who the heck cares?! The fact that you guys are arguing over this is pretty hilarious.

my guess is most do know, wouldnt think it would be too bad if most didn't, and quiet about it hoping the spot-naming will stop.
