Looks like Ft. Desoto (and WFL) got a solid swell this morning, rare, maybe once a year type thing. Those who aren't familiar, Ft. Desoto is located in WFL on the Gulf, it's at the Southern most tip of Pinellas County (St. Petersburg). It generally doesn't get good waves, but when it does, wow...
Yeah, my old stompin grounds get it good about 10-15 times a year with a bunch of slop chop days sprinkled in here and there, this spot however almost never works, so it's great to see it doing it's thing. Apparently the buoy jumped up to 12ft. last night as a sudden low pushed through.
Very familiar with Ft. Desoto, but I had no clue it ever broke. But then again, we always went out to the point nearest the Skyway to fish. That's great!
I have to admit, maybe not the Gulf ever, but it would be fun for a bunch of us to travel to PR for a few days, to then get to know the morons we are posting with. Of course, no weapons allowed..... I will be the "tour guide"
