What up my Bo’s? Long time no see. I’m making a board for a friend of mine and she’s requested futures fins. I figured I could buy the jig and include it in the price. Well all jigs seem to be sold out. Has anyone installed these fin boxes before? I don’t really want to wing it, I may try to build one.
I think LBC posted up a homemade jig once? I have done it a few times with the jig, but never winged it. You could prob trace a fin box and very slowly and carefully cut out foam with a razor blade. Or call a local shaper and ask them to rout it for ya! The last one is what I would do.
Actually if you trace a fin box on a piece of plywood and router it out, you can clamp the homemade plywood jig to the board and adjust your router depth accordingly... I think. Good to hear from you Clemmie
