Anyone ever try the techflex? How do they ride? I like the honeycombs and have tried the blackstix. Both seem to work well enough, like the solid feel of the honeycombs.
All I know is I love my carbon fibers. Rock solid feel. Just waiting for the day they cut me. Till the day happens ill rock them. I have a S, M and large thruster sets.
Tim Nolte, now on the OBX, has been doing carbon fiber boards since the 90's. I watched him after he "coated" one. He had it in a giant seal a meal hooked up to a vacuum pump. the finished product was surprisingly light. He said they were almost indestructible.
I always loved the Merrick templates...never clicked with an "upright" fin like Kelly's stuff. That being said...I tried most of tech in the Merrick templates and really like the black sticks...not sure if it's the vector foil or the "soft" tip... Just a great all round fin for me. Machados are my current go to...makes the AM black sticks feel dead. They are a bit bigger but relatively the same template. Even ride them as quad fronts...if you have a board with a wider tail---give 'em a try.
I have the YU techflex. I like them a lot and are a good all around fin if you don't plan on buying multiple sets. Good control and gives you this cool sensation when you get into the wave. Like boom, fins engaged. Haven't tried enough other pairs but I trust dude man at the local shop. http://www.futuresfins.com/en-us/yu-techflex-cyan-5588-436-00-detail
