There will never be another Kelly.

Gabe couldn't touch kelly with a telephone poll if he won 5 more.

    Kid has skills though.

There will never be another Kelly. Dudes a freak of nature! Medina is talented but it's a diff time then when Kelly won most of his titles. There is so much social media and pressure on these guys and much more talent worldwide it will be tough to even repeat. I mean is Medina even the best Brazo?!

I like that Clay isn't on the tour, he's an incredible surfer but could never fit into the "cookie cutter" tour pro persona. He's too cool for that. He just loves to surf so I don't think he really cares if he's sponsored to surf he still rips better then current pros.

One of the best free surfers right now hands down.

I really like Quik/Roxy as a brand but he should be happy that they dropped him after squeezing the last pennies from his movie. I still wonder whose idea that was in the first place. Was it actually for Aspergers awareness or a product placement because he didn't compete?

Caroline, what pro surfer would you like to mate with?

I'd like to mate with Martin Potter and Flea.

Oh shoot, I mean Sally Fitzgibbons and that Hawaiian, "Something or Other" Manuel chick.

    Jeez, that was close.

    On a serious note.....

Do you guys really like pro surfing? Do you guys watch contests on the computer? If so, what type of drugs are y'all on?

Are you guys patriotic when it comes to pro surfing?

Y'all don't find surf contests boring?

I'd mate with Kolohe or JJF because they have nice goatees. I do watch contests because I am invested in a fantasy surf league. It's fun to watch when you have sweet prizes for paying attention and picking the right teams.

Like most girls I'm a Julian Wilson fan

I also work a 9 to 5 desk job so watching the contests are a great time killer during slow season

    I'm a JJF fan too!

I actually just got asked to join a fantasy club - I wasn't sure if people actually do the fantasy surfing, I'm going to give it a shot though because I tend to watch all the contests. Could be pretty good at it who knows!

I'm a pretty avid pot smoker haha. I watch surf contests on the computer sometimes. Usually as background noise though and I turn whenever a set comes. They're boring if the waves are crap. Usually round 2 is boring too. I'll watch those on heat analyzer usually. I'm not patriotic in pro surfing. I actually think patriotism defeats the beauty of it. Aussies and Brazilians I'm addressing here.

I'm going to answer these in order.

Sometimes I like pro surfing sometimes I dont.

I leave the contest on in the backround at work sometimes and flip over if I need a distraction so.....drunk.

    Yeah go usa.

I find them insanely boring to surf in or to watch. Plus they are all bs.

If you have a desk job you should! I do and have done a league past 2 years. Won a custom board for first place last year for my league. You're welcome to join my league but you are already a little behind (we drop lowest 3 event scores).

Watching vids/contests make you a better surfer. Reading reviews of boards also does. Surfing a lot really makes you better but I don't have that luxury.

Julian Wilson is HIV+ you know....or so I heard on the internet. And he's only 5'1''

Never trust a man named "Julian."

So, I'm learning a lot today. First Whalerus is Rob Kelly, which is kind of thrilling knowing The Barrier Island Heroes are lurking here. They might surf better than me, but I post better.

I am convinced that no one actually works in America, and that's why Lithuania is blowing us away. Everyone is on the internet looking at surf contests. And every time I drive by road construction there's 15 dudes and one "tolken" chick, and everybody is just sitting around....albeit not on their computers. They just kind of stand around.

I'm a semi-real surfer so it's ok for me to waste time at work, but the rest of you need to get back to work. Being unproductive isn't for everyone.

Thats awesome! Gosh I don't even know if theres a prize in this league I joined, wouldn't mind winning a board though that'd be cool!

I'll totally join - why not? I was going to make a thread asking if anyone actually is into the fantasy surfing and see if theres any SI leagues but I figured that it would just get spammed with negativity comments, ha. Maybe others will see this post instead.

For all those of you who work desk jobs, how many hours daily out of 8 would you say you're on task with work items? Out of that, how many of those hours are you fully focused and productive? Curious.

PS--I find comps on the web highly boring. A little better on TV cause they cut a lot of the waiting out. If i watch on the web, I just enjoy watching the waves roll in and the occasional booty shot on the beach.
