anybody know anything about gath helmets out of australia? i\'m looking to get a single helmet that i can use for water and mountain sports and i\'ve read online that gath is the deal but don\'t really know anything about helmets. anybody have any experience with them? or any alternatives?
i had one for quite a while that i used mainly for snowboarding. got it through surfer's supplies in '99 & wore it till it died in 2006. it worked great & definitely saved me from a few trips to the hospital. very comfortable to wear & kept my head warm even in the coldest conditions. i never wore it surfing, tho it did make a trip to panama w/ me in '05. i think supplies still carries them, or at least has a relationship w/ the company & so can get them.
They're worth the money no doubt. Used one in Hawaii. I was lucky enough not to need it, but the sense of security helped alot.
