With the water around 35 degrees are people still surviving in 4/3's?

Not sure where you are. In jersey I really doubt anyone is in a 4/3. 35 is a normal winter, and 5/4/3 is the norm. Some go 6/5/4. most use 5/4/3, 7mm booties, 5mm gloves. Keeps you warm enough through the Jersey/ LI winters.

Prior to my Isurus purchase, I wore a 4/3 with the rip curl heat vest...worked fine the last two seasons. However, without the vest (or a poly/fleece top underneath) doubt you'd last more than an hour or two...

When I was a kid back in the 80s I used to surf with a spring suit under a 4/3 in the winter.

I'm wearing a 5/3 and I've been fine. My buddy is wearing a 4/3, I know he's cold but he says he is fine.

Depends on your own heat tolerance and body fat.
Typically fatties have an uncanny ability to retain body heat...lol personally I get cold feet first.
4/3 I-evade got chilly, looking to get 5/4 I-soldier next winter., along with boots and mitts ..but loot ..well...
I'd rather be a little warm then a little cold though, personally.
Besides, its going to start warming up in a bit.

^^^Did this a few times as a young feller. Last two winters I did the 4/3 with hooded vest underneath deal, which was do-able but not prefer-able.

My new 6/5/4 is the titties.

Im pretty crazy but im in Delaware where the water is probably the coldest and Im out here in a 3/2 ;) Not even kiddin...im a cheap ass. I mostly skim this time of year for that reason...but I went surfing this past sunday in my 3/2 with the water temps around 34 and air temp around 40. Its not that bad. But i also wear a shirt and leggings underneath. BUT...I only go out surfing for an hour or less this time of year too...

we use to use 4/3 with a squid lid and 5 mil its and 7 mil gloves . I just broke down and got a 5/4/3 drylock. My last Hyperflex Amp started to leak right at the seam by the lower part of my back . I fixed it twice and said forget it

Any suggestions for cold water wet suites for a big guy? Been looking for a good 4/3 chest zip, but at my height and weight I have limited options. Trouble is, the XLT is too tight and the XXL and XXL are too short and tug on me crotch. Any suggestions much appreciated.

As my new position as Match Maker, might I suggest that Maria you look-up ThatSlyB.

Both of y'all wear minimal rubber coverage.

You may wear the pants in this relationship, though, as ThatSlyB waits until early March to don that 3 mil.

You guys are relatively close Delaware and New Jersey, though he is in North Jersey, which is not only farther away but means he has that North Jersey thing aboot him.

Seldom vs ThatSlyB in an epic bench off to win the heart of the fair Maria?
One of youse better slap a property patch on the back of her wetsuit so she doesn't become a Swell Info 'pass around"

Nah, Seldom has been paired with Caroline Campbell.

Stay warm, Chavez, stay warm. It almost feels nice out there in the low 20's.

    Who Skeg Legs?

Yeah, your guy might seem great in your eyes, but does he wear a 3 mil in Jersey in March?

    A Danny Bonaduce red-head or a Ron Howard red-head?
