It's MLK Day, so I'm off of work. Gonna head north from VB to get the wind matchup and there'll be plenty of swell... OCMD/Del. heads: if I head up that way, where are some spots to check?
True, it's early, but I'm just tryin to get a feel on whats good up north in general. As far as heading north goes: now its lookin like we're gonna have NNW winds down here, which is sideshore and choppy. For the Eastern Shore of both MD and VA (faces ESE), that's more offshore... If you really wanna score, you gotta get out of town, especially if VB is your home...
Not sure why anyone would volunteer to name spots/breaks on a internet forum & advertise for the next swell or future swells. If anyone feels it's OK to ask for spots online, they may also feel it's OK to bring a car load with them. Try doing a little driving around, you have the day off.
Not the case man, just figured I'd pick ya'lls brains. Understand why you wouldn't wanna reveal too much about your fav spots, though... Well if anyone wants to share some local knowledge, PM me so it's not out there for everyone to see. Got plenty of that for VB/OBX, so if you scratch my back I'll scratch yours. Otherwise, I'll just cruise around and see what I see.
http://www.wannasurf.com/spot/North_America/USA/North_East/Virginia/index.html They have a pretty detailed list of the spots in the area. I don't think Delaware OCMD really have that many "secret" spots Have fun... Hopefully its decent on mlk day!
haha! i promise a wave of VB invaders will not take over the Delmarva. Very few are willing to pay the CBBT toll anyways... You guys scored on that economic barrier. In fact, A LOT of dudes down here don't even consider heading north at all.
CBBT has nothing to do with it. 2 hours north = OC 2 hours south = Hatteras.....I think maybe 1 in 999999 swell events the conditions are better in OC
It was green earlier today now it red and blue for Cape May . I wanna bust out the single fin this weekend maybe at the CGB
I know I wanna ride my single fin and cruise on my alaia that I just shaped, but those boards arent very suited for choppy waves . Guess I will ride he quad or my firewire. I like my single fin and alaia better, they are like toys you just ride and cruise. Better than trying to cram turns into waves. (actually cramming turns in is fun too.) Whatever I just want waves. I bet the best bet for vb at this state is next to the croatan jetty maybe some protection from the rocks. But the forecast always changes.
DB: DP with us monday (u know where) then after your REALLY miserable and numb...teeth extraction...perfect day.
