any ideas on loosing like 10 pounds really quickly? im really not fat and out of shape, but i can def use loosing a few pounds.. (im only 20 so it shouldnt be too hard) forgot to mention, id prefer not having to eat the healthiest of all foods although i dont mind eating whole wheat bread, and lots of protein. i prefer losing weight by exercising if possible
Do plyometrics and abs (P90x both are good) one day then do a long distance run on the next day followed by suicides if you know what those are. Do them on an empty stomach so you burn fat. Eat lots of salad since lettuce and celery have almost no nutritional value and celery is difficult to break down. Finally eat some fiber to make you take nice healthy dumps
thanks. i was just looking into P90x . are the results after 90 days as amazing as their site makes it seem?
haaa.. Sorry bro but that was some straight american Kookery right there. UHHH i wanna lose weight. I'm not fat or anything... But I don't wanna eat healthy. Sorry to break it to you. But you gotta eat more healthy. Thats the first step. More fruits, more vegitables, less fast food and microwave meals. You are what you eat man, so try not to eat ****. Then I may try running, biking, anything. If "losing weight" (such an americanized false image of "healthy") is what you want, than your gonna want areobic exersize. Whatever gets your heart rate up. Lifting weights, PX90, whatever. Thats gonna build your muscle mass, which weighs more than fat, so you will gain weight. So you don't want that right? Just live healthy man, its that simple... Sorry for being a ****, but you kinda asked for it.
the ideal idea.... what you need is an aerobic exercise...ideally in a resistant medium....like water...lay on your belly, and use your arms, even your legs in rapid repeated movements. alternate with quick transitions from prone to standing, and once standing, intermittently twist your torso from side to side, maintaining your balance on an unstable surface....then cool down with a brace of brisk water...alternate with bullsh!t sessions with other exercisers while waiting for another aerobic opportunity.... too bad there's no exercise program to do all that... anyway...i'm off to the beach....
You dont necessarily have to eat healthy to lose weight (although you should and you would see much better results if you did). If you don't exercise right now then adding an exercise program will help you lose weight because it will burn calories you were not burning before. For working out on an empty stomach I think thats a horrible idea cause you will probably feel nauseous and light headed and if you don't have the fat, carbs, sugars, and other nutrients from the food your body could start eating away at the muscle. And to lose weight do more cardio then heavy lifting and if you do lift do light weight and high of repetition. Pretty much just surf more swimming is great for you and start skimming on flat days to get that running in there.
I should have made this more clear in my original post, I dont eat sh** foods all day, i happen to eat more or less healthy but I like to have my fat juicy steaks or hamburgers occasionally, and being that Im not fat, i dont feel that its necessary to go on a strict diet since i barely have 10 pounds that i can lose.
nothing wrong with steaks and instead of regular hamburger eat turkey burgers alot more protein and half the fat, but the best way to loose weight just cut all the sugar out of your diet , no mountain dews no skittles or snickers bars and don't eat potato chips , drink a ton of water
I'm 44 years old and I can tell you without a doubt if you don't keep exercising and attempting to eat well even when your young you will be getting fatter and fatter as you age. Everyone of my friends that dropped out of surfing, got married had kids etc are boarderline obese. I am more active than most 20 year olds, surf every solid ridable day, go to the gym every flat day and have a very physical job and still at 44 if I eat like ****, not even every day eating like ****, I gain weight. So I guess what I am saying is diet is the key to some extent even above exercising but building muscle mass helps to raise your metabolism so you can drop fat more efficiently.
You definitely gotta eat better. Not saying you have to go for strictly salads, but making smarter choices, like greens or fruits instead of french fries, goes a long way. I try to eat at least one salad a day. Also cut down on your portions. Unfortunately, eating right is the only way to really lose weight. Exercise will make the weight loss go faster, but you'll gain it back as soon as you stop unless you eat better. It's hard for us Americans to do this. Oh yeah, and forget drinking alcohol.
agreed... here is an idea to try.. go on a raw food diet for 1-2 weeks, and see how much weight you lose and how much better you feel. By raw food, i mean keep it to whole, unprocessed foods: vegetables, fruit, nuts, whole grains, and proteins. Stay away from the snacks. Of course, I don't know your current diet, but making some small changes in diet can go a long way.
cutting 3500 calories out of your diet (per week for example) will allow you to lose 1lb. You can do this through exercising more or eating less. So in order to lose 10lbs you would need to drop 35000 calories out of your diet over your "dieting" period. If you really want to get anal, write down everything that you eat and drink throughout the day and figure out what you can cut.
Read, "The Abs Diet" by David Zinczenko. Eating healthy doesn't necessarily mean eating disgusting foods. I try to get in at least 6 meals a day, two of them being snacks that are loaded with protein. Running 6 miles a day every day will turn you into a great long distance runner but that doesn't mean the fat will go away. Eating right is the first step to losing fat, don't even think about exercising until you have a good enough mindset to buckle down and change the bad eating habits. And don't think of it as "dieting," cause that's just connotative of giving up the foods that taste good and having to eat celery and drink slim-fast. Thought I'd put in my two cents. I don't know what kind of 20 year old has to come to a surf forum to figure out how to lose weight? You surf, right?
