And which one, moron, are you?? Be clear.....us old guys DO INDEED OWN THE SPOT. Sounds to me as if you are an "inbetweener".....and I bet you wear leisure suits as well. BWAAAAHAHAHAHHA!
Ape, your hatred for Grain is similar to Zach619's deep distaste for Volcom. I think that's OK. I can't stand Vissla. Hate is good, it let's you know that you're alive. Steroids. Definitely steroids.
yeah thanks u get it. i hate vissla too its sorta gay. i generally hate hype marketing in surfing, its a plague really, the main reason i hate it is because it puts certain peeps in the spotlight and thus sets up a hierarchy of brodom which is super homo. plus i just thought that whittling a plank in the woods was so forced and awkward it made me cringe. thats all, thanks for reading Steroids. Definitely steroids.
Hey! Isn't that your front yard lawn jockey wrassling your sheep, gnome...? Things really are different in New Zealand.
dont be mad there beta minus boy people who surf better than you deserve more set waves if you dont like, try bowling
LOL. Maybe we can get Metard to work some of his Gnome Magic on this thing...you know, turn the snarling dogs into sheep, superimpose Roy's face onto the statue and have him simultaneously wanking off? Now THAT would be another "keeper".
so is grain a surf brand,i thought we were talking about the food group?and is this a maine thread or a hipster thread lol?i was curious had to know what getting gay with grain meant.
All stereotypes aside. From a construction point of view these boards are a real work of art similar to boat building. A real craft. As far as who rides them, well...I won't judge. Actually it's getting back to the roots of board building and design via Tom Blake's hollow designs of the 1930's. Maybe TB was sporting a beard and punching dummies in a barn in Maine or New Hampshire. Where was his inspiration coming from?
Tom bloke ? Wha ?? Besides the point. Simply put the shaping of a dic k dragged in the woods was wicked homo.
I want to apologize for my late droppin on this brilliant post . Looks like the Grain illuminati had the ol dropknee banned for a bit ((..... The control board @ the "barn" in York with the sustainable hipsters working it 24/7 pushing their product to the kooks , noobs and the dumb with $ must have made some calls on their wooden cell phones to potus of the Vermont surfing association who called in a favor but I want to thank the sea ape for the post . Yes Grain is a fraud " surf company " started by a chubby fella from Vermont who couldn't surf ?! Go figure .
Im confused about masculinity. I thought it was more masculine to wear flannel and do woodworking than it is to wear a suit and sit in a cubicle while your boss lauren gets his weekly pedicure. Whats more masculine, gossiping with our girls on swell info about a heavyweight boat builder dude that builds something different or actually building something. I think youre lost in your own opinion ape. I lived in a van once, which I enjoyed repairing myself and enjoyed building out the interior, enjoy having a beard, enjoy drinking craft beer often, enjoy reading about people of craft, and most of all I enjoy watching insecure people struggle to identify with a tough crowd, while those who are stereotyped just continue on with their day.
It's sad but true. This whole industry of surfing nowadays is built by frauds. Everyone jumping on the wagon to make a buck. You don't have to ride the boards, you don't have to like any one. Let people be who they are and do your own thing. Let's stop already with the labels.
Funny I lived in a van for 4 years and way more masculine than these turds that will do anything to sell and reap on the new school bearded stool pushers .
Ummm...actually my name. Where's the connection? What are you reaching for? Looking for someone to attack today Barry?
This ^^^^^ While I think it is insane that people have to document every last moment of their lives and then "post" it for people to cheer on, the guy making something is way ahead of the guy coming on an internet forum to say the builder is a "homo." Building, fixing, and designing stuff is cool......heck might even get you laid. Nobody ever got laid biching on an internet forum
Attack?? Nah, waste of time. I was reaching for you to send me a case of Don Q rum, but.......seeing as how you are NOT the Product Manager empowered to do so.......brrrrrppp!!!
I think some of you guys are missing Ape's point. Building and fabricating are certainly way cool. Flannel and beards are certainly perceived as "masculine". Put together, in it's purest form, is most definitely "soul" and "underground" and "counter-culture"...which is the rallying cry of most surfers. But when it's neatly packaged as "dank" and "cool" and "underground" and put out over the internet by a bunch of guys who probably haven't surfed very long and have had flannel and beards for even less time, it is not sincere and, in actuality, is 180 degrees from what they are attempting to market. The whole shtick would be way more acceptable if they just kept it underground, and real surfers were finding out about it through word of mouth. It would just be more real and sincere, and not give real surfers the impression of a packaged fad.
