Getting to the Beach

    So im really troubled. i Love surfing, and i moved up here this year and i bought a new wetsuit and all for it. but i live in Boston without a car. is there anyway to get to gloucester or nantasket or just anywhere on the ocean where its surfable? im desperate especially with the swell this week...

    Isn't there rideable surf in the city proper? Down here in NYC most of the surfers of all ages don't have cars, they just hop the subway or bus. You should be able to figure this out, especially living in a big city that's near quality surf. NYC is actually a pretty good place to be a surfer and I've heard Boston isn't bad either if you can deal with the cold. Keep Surfing!!

    get on the blue line, take it to the end, then start walking north along the coast. the waves will be on your right. if there is surf north of boston and you don't see any waves yet, you have not walked far enough.

    go to north station, get on the train, it makes stops to gloucester and rockport
