stupid.. just stupid.
You can go there if you really want, all you need is about 15 minutes.
Haha, nope! . I believe we have souls Yank. I believe in God, although not the book written version, that’s all. And by people being “more open to it” I mean more accepting of an idea that they can’t prove or grasp is all. And it doesn’t have to be “God” because I also believe we are a lot more capable as thinkers than we know, and at times we catch a sneak peek of that and get to talking about it in places like this.
You yourself are a good example of what I mean - you are perceptive of a lot more than just action and result living. You take time to understand, sympathize, be open to discussion and compromise : that to me takes more than just skin and bones human virus. Big diff with myself is I don’t preach or judge - I’m a mess so who am I to critique?
And didn’t he own a white van? Hahahaha
And now back to the scantily clad playhouse
I can't tell you how happy i am that my work can is green..... soley because of this forum.
Interesting discussion fellows. I have always tried to keep an open mind with regard to the paranormal aspects of our existence. I have experienced too many unexplained events that leave absolute truth shrouded in mystery.
Anyone who tells you they have irrefutable knowledge regarding the true nature of the universe is deluding themselves (or is afraid of the dark.) Embrace the night. Mescaline anyone?

Oxygen deprivation can cause weird stuff to happen in the brain. My wife tried to get me to get my ENT doc to put me on a breathing machine due to lots of snoring, but that has gotten lots better last couple years due to changes in diet, way less soda, and way less booze late.
I believe in spiritual energy, and also believe in other subtle energy forms and non permanent entities unexplained by modern science. I also believe in science as we know it, but realize it is in a constant state of flux and expansion.
Bottom line - it can't hurt to get checked out by a ENT specialist for sleep apnea related disorder. It also can't hurt (maybe it can who the hell knows) to bring in a shaman and smudge the place with sweet grass (to bring in positive energies) and sage (to dissipate negative energies). Mindful meditation can help soothe and reset our brainwaves to a certain extent.
And who knows the effects of all the recreationals we took way back in the day? Another undetermined factor. Maybe that's why I like to make whale noises.
I make whale noises to aggravate my wife sometimes... then I sit straight up in bed really fast right when she’s gently tapping my shoulder.
Scares the shite out of her hahaha.
Of course then she’s pissed for a few seconds - then I get punched in the balls
You obviously failed science courses, or stopped thinking scientifically.
I would rather depend on scientific method to find answers than mysticism, religion, shamans, priest, rabbis, or imams. And Chariot of the Gods is for idiots.
Of course, there is the Ouiji board for you.....
Actually, I did well in science. I have excelled in the area of Botany over the years.
You missed my point. Go back and read again. I will help you...Science has not found the answers to the unknown. The possibilities are infinite...beyond human science and human spiritual beliefs. Even beyond CudaIQ.
Science is good at finding answers, they just have not found the answer to what you think you know.

He was laughing at FSU the other day I'm sure of that! Farging semen holes
You bite your tongue! Hahaha Freaking Willy Taggart did a terrible job coaching in his 1st season. He better step it up or his ass will be gone soon!
About a year and a half ago, my son and his girlfriend at the time stopped by my folks' house. The place was still furnished and wouldn't be sold for another year. Dad/Grandpa had passed the year before, and Mom was in an assisted living facility.
As they were about to leave via the front door, my son looked up the stairway and saw a much younger version of my Dad standing at the upstairs railing. He told my son that he was worried about Grandma, didn't like where she was, and wanted her to come home. Both my son and his girlfriend said they saw my Dad.
I later spoke with a Lutheran pastor about this. If your son did see something, he said, it was not your Dad. It was another type of spirit and not a good one. The soul of a person doesn't linger to haunt people or places.
I never really questioned my son about the episode. I really don't believe in this sort of thing. Prior to this, he had not been happy with us moving his Grandma into assisted living and thought we were being mean to her.
The reason science has not found answers to the "unknown", is because science doesn't deal in the "occult", myths, mystics, etc. There are many arenas into which science sees no value, ie chasing ghosts etc.
Science requires "evidence", even testable evidence. Your "unknown" has zero evidence for existence, just anecdotes. Even St. Augustine knew that!!
Now, if you wish to call miasmas and ghosts science, or beyond science, be my guest!! Just a bunch of hocus pocus ......
So, sorry I pinched all of you guys medieval thoughts for the day, but I am going for a paddle in a rather flat ocean.
Barry, i totally get what your saying. But your thought process is flawed. Science sees no value in chasing ghosts. Well, I'd agree with that if you are referring to the stereotypical ghost. The ones movies portray.
I believe we all have an energy. Diffrent people may call it an aurora or a spirit. I believe it's energy. But unlike sound or light, we can't measure it. We don't understand it. I believe it is generated and felt within the brain. Now, I'm not saying any of this is fact. It's just my belief. Im not religious. People who are religious often feel the same thing, they just explain it differently. Some people say god. I say energy.
Now you can look at it the way you do and say it's not real, we are quacks, yada yada. Fact of the matter is the brain isn't understood 100%. Or science is great, and we've made great strides. But we do not know everything. That's fact. We are the smartest living thing on the planet. But we are not all knowing. So to say science sees no value is a pretty ignorant statement. Anyone who says with 100% certainty is wrong. Because we don't know. Our science isn't there.
Same could be said about aliens. Complete BS right? Well we do know there are galaxies beyond ours. How far have we got into space? Not very far considering the size. Im not saying there are aliens out there. But considering we are here, it's extremely close minded that the possibility of other life out there is impossible.
Fact of the matter is we don't know. Just because our science isn't there does not mean it has no value.
Anyone who says 100% yes or no on any of these unknown topics is not looking at it objectively
So this is an experience i had to really got me thinking about the brain. Now it's really easy for someone like barry to just say "drugs" to disprove it. But i think that's BS.
Me, my sister, and two other friends dropped some acid. We're hanging out in the living room and we were playing with Russian nesting dolls. You know, the biggest one opens and there's a smaller one inside. Then that one opens and there's another smaller one inside. Well we got to the last one and are so confused. Im holding it up in the air looking at it. Suddenly a see this beam of light extended in a straight line ot of it in both directions. It went through my finger and actually hurt. I got up and hid in a bedroom. Next day i met up with my friend i was with. No talk of why i got up and locked myself into a bedroom for the rest of the night. Well turns out he saw that same light. It extended right to him and he felt the same pain.
100% hallucination. Acid will do that to you. But the 2 other people in the room didn't see it. I get hallucinations, but two people hallucinating the same exact thing? That's weird. A few weeks later im taking to a dude about the experience and he pointed me in the direction of some papers written by doctors. It's believed that when you have a close connection with someone and are on psychedelics shared hallucinations can happen. Sure, the hallucination isn't real. That's just the drugs affecting the brain. But how do the two separate brains connect to both present the same hallucination? Energy i believe. It's not understood. We don't have an answer. But people who are objective and open minded don't just write it off. Super easy to write it off as dirty drug users being dirty drug users. But there's plenty of people out there who've had similar experiences. Is it energy connecting two brains? Who knows. Is it pure coincidence? Possibly. But is it really that absurd to think that the possibility that there is somthing beyond our understanding happening there? Acid opens the mind in strange ways. We're only scratching the surface when it comes to understanding the brain.
"energy", "aura" in everyone??
200 years ago biologists looking at "species", "genus", etc said the same thing--they called it "essence"--they were proven wrong by modern day taxonomists.
Talking about those above and aliens are totally different items--aliens are a hypothetical subject that can be subject to testing--mathematical models indicate probability of existence-but as of yet, there is no evidence.
Auras are hogwash.
I worked in science my whole life--I hold a Masters in it. Trust me--I understand it. I never said science knows everything. I do assert that science recognizes (usually) what is crap and what is real.
Now, once again, if you like the world of the "paranormal", hey, be my guest.
