I agree completely with you fungus. I own a business and I have had managerial positions that I just can't fill due to an unskilled work force. DP can back me on that....I'm still looking brah!

useful idiots like me? See that's what I'm talking about Yankee. Who is the one getting butt-hurt from our debate? Is it me, who sticks to the conversation or you, Archy and Barry that always seems to reduce it to personal insults.

You may not like my opinion; however, resorting to personal insults just makes you guys look like you can't hang with someone that stays on point with the issues.

I never praised Musk for saving the world, please find that quote Archy. You love to put words in other peoples mouths. I merely admire and support the direction he wants humanity to move towards. I am not looking for a savior, just a reason to get up in the morning and not look at life the way Barry does.

You're right, I disclosed my bias from the get go; however; it is blatantly obvious you hold many bias's that you do not admit to up front. You had any progressive out there, that is a bias you have in spades. So, we all come into every debate with some bias's. At least I admitted mine upfront. I could have not done that and you wouldn't have that to condemn me for. But I chose to, because I actually want to have an open and honest debate. Not just insult someone because they don't agree with me.

    Is too.....

    <grin>

You have missed my point--In the exploration of space, you believe in sending humans. In the exploration of spaces, I believe in sending machines , no humans.
    That is the sole difference.
Also, your use of the word "dystopia" is illogical here; doesn't fit. I have never envisioned the world to be an environmental or any kind of a mess. Other than political in which case, "dystopia" (IMHO) does not apply.
I like the world as is, especially if we can get rid of them stinking mooselims.....

Ahh now we have moved or from personal attacks to the grammar police....using the playbook for avoiding the issues Barry.

We have sent many machines to Mars, at this point the obvious next step to me is human exploration. We can agree to disagree on that front.

Forgive me for an incorrect inference, but it seemed to me the future you were describing was a dystopian one. Like you said eventually it is all going to go to **** and there is nothing we can do about it. But I'll concede just to save time. You're right Barry, sorry my education is mostly science based, grammar is not a strong point of mine.

A racist line masquerading as comedy, Barry. There is a kernel of truth behind every joke...

I'm glad you like the world the way it is....Obama left things in decent shape huh. It's nice to hear someone give him a little credit. Good on you, Barry.

Wow dude. So sensitive I'm Fukin cracking up.
You get all butt hurt for being a useful idiot yet I said nothing about your snide passive aggressiveness.
    Hey I'm biased. Yes.
But my summation of the economic repercussions of the carbon tax are fact.
Your God Musk sought to use it for his own personal gain no matter what it would mean for the general population.
Get over the sugar coat and realize Musk is a really smart dude with some insane and oft successful ideas who can't sit still and is driven out of pure passion for the self fulfillment of his ideas coming to fruition.
It's got nothing to do with making the world a better place.
So now back to the OG crux of my argument.
Carbon Taxes. How do you justify them and Musk's want of.

What kind of industry?? All my posting about college is about 95% trolling, unless you have a good major it is not worth the money. It is all about skills. If my young kid one day says he wants to be an English major he will get a slap in the head. If he says welding, he gets a pat on the back.

Snide passive aggressiveness, lol? It's called a debate...

I'm not getting sensitive, just pointing out the shortcomings of your arguments. They always get reduced down to personal insults. I am sure I am not the only one that notices this....

You admit your bias, so why criticize me for admitting mine. I proclaimed my bias from the jump, you didn't until I called you out...

I don't want a Carbon Tax, never said I did. This is where Elon and I disagree. But a lot of you guys can't agree with someone unless there is universal agreement on every issue, Good luck with that. I realize Elon has some dumb ideas; however, I believe the core of his business is good for humanity and the environment. So I may disagree with him on some of the micro issues; I tend to agree with his philosophy on the macro.

    Muslims aren't a race.
Muslim is someone who adheres to Islam.

In the service/hospitality industry. The problem I have noticed is a lot of people expect to be paid just for showing up. I have noticed a lot of the work force now finds way more pleasure in consumption over productivity. I am a believer that productivity is the most rewarding part of ones life. Consumption is just the icing on top. The downfall of a consumption based society I guess. No one cares about what they can produce anymore, only what they can consume.

Ok, what's your point? Getting rid of anyone based on what they adhere to about as commie as it gets.

That makes you an idiot as a counselor, and a lousy teacher.
College is for education, not to get a job.
Vocational schools are about jobs, welding or otherwise.

I never called for the Musoid cull, Barry did.
But on the other hand we got rid of Hitler and his minions because of their beliefs.

So you are comparing all Muslim's to the Nazi's?

You didn't say it, but you sure did chime in, hence my response to you.

Do you guys honestly think I am a teacher? That involves liking people to a certain degree. As far as college and the purpose being about education, sure I agree. But with 60k in debt for a degree that won't get you a job??? Worth it??? Fungus says no.

    1. Doubtful. That's why they changed the term to "Climate Change" a term that is by its very definition a moving target. Everything changes......nothing ever stays the same forever.

    2. Any changes to the climate are probably 99.9% natural with very limited human involvement.

    3. See above.

    4. Natural causes......ocean currents and that big yellow ball of fire in the sky being the most obvious.

    5. Follow the money. Of course other countries like it while its bad for us.

    6. Mitigate what? You talking money/economics or pollution?

    7. Disagree with the premise of the question. Try again.

    8. No stock. I do buy gasoline for my car, electric and natural gas for my house and I'd prefer my rates to remain low and not have to subsidize other countries, big government bureaucracies or other people's irrational environmental fears.

if production is so good (which it is ) why do you plan on taxing people for breathing? thats basically what the Paris accord would do
Also, no comparison between ken lay and elon musk, elon musk is a genius, BUT HE IS PROPPED UP WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS TO MAKE A PRODUCT FOR THE WEALTHY. this 'hypergrowth' model is something new in businesses, amazin and uber and are burning through piles of cash in hoping to become to a monopoly by undercutting competition for long enough to drive them out of business so they can then set their prices to whatever they want once competition is destroyed.

you cant keep asking Yankee 'when to short it' as this stock doesn't follow rules, it is propped up via gvt subsidies.shorting a stock the gvt is trying to prop up is a a losing bet and 'the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent'

The truth is Kyle, you cant with any factual basis state anthropological climate change is real and you want to radically destroy the constitution to make changes in the chance it might be.

    rectal-cranial inverse

Im all about VOLUNTARY ACTION here
    you think its an issue?
    get solar panels
    get an electric car
pay the electric company more for your electric, ask them to find a green source (some utils do this)

individuals acting voluntarily, great, now convince others to to the same voluntarily

why do you want your unproven beliefs enforced at the barrel of a gun? This makes you the WORST kind of person

60k?? That is a community college.
It cost me 180K for my offspring (one). Her education has paid off....mostly. It is, as all things under the sun, up to the graduate as to what to do about securing a job.
As for you being a teacher formally, it is irrelevant--we are all teachers, in one way or another.
