Good tread Singer Isle Doggie. While we may not agree on everything, we both think Uriah Heep was legit. That makes us brothers. And I'm pretty sure you like the bunnies too.
Gotta admit, every time I hear about an actor or singer or comedian commenting on anything, I throw up inside my mouth a little. This goes for Ted Nugent every bit as much as Bruce Springsteen or Leonardo DiCrappio.
Actors. LOL We're havin one BODACIOUS lighntin storm here now. My interwebs keep goin off. It's Archy's fault for eatin that bean and habanero burrito this mornin. Maybe some surf after the storm, though.
In all seriousness HayeDookie, If you want to lessen the impact on the environment, start at home. Grow and store your own food. Support local organic farms. Support sustainable farming methods. Get involved with helping starving countries with the resources to grow their own food instead of some giant Bill Gates corpo just supplying it for them. And to be extreme. Quit surfing. Boards, suites, fins, leashes, surf trips....... Al impact the environment. Stop driving cars. Bikes are not an answer bc they require resources and oil for production and tires. Own nothing except the clothes on your back. Only eat the food you forage for. Stop breathing because you emit CO2.
Had a banana and berry smoothie for brekie, but the bean burrito is the call tonight. Thanks sounds good. Shin high dribble today. Goin for a fat tire beach ride.
I believe we are responsible for climate change.that we do have a hand in it.whether or not its true, which I'm pretty sure it is u cant deny the basic facts. main thing with me is the trees/jungles.fuk all the pollution, smog, etc.those trees absorb the co2.so u take away all the trees by deforestation, what do we have to absorb the co2? and if ur clueless about co2 and what it does lol.il say a few relatable things so I don't sound retarded lol.ok more co2 means bigger plants, like bigger poison ivy plants, bigger ticks.ozone being eaten away.shucks!! also hurricanes are the earths way of ridding its body of toxins, like excess levels of co2 in the atmosphere.basically a hurricane cleans the atmosphere, and us not having hurricanes the atmosphere isn't cleaning itself so all that **** keeps eating away at the ozone, meaning more sun and uv rays get stronger, etc.
All the global warming alarmists here, i'm wondering what your opinions on GMO plants and animals are. If you start altering the plants and animals you will alter the ecosystem by introducing new species that haven't evolved with the natural environment creating a disruption in the natural processes and the creation of new diseases.
Absolutely on point. Kidde, you are on point as well, as is Archy actually. I am not sold on global warming but do believe in alternative energy sources, other than fossil fuels, will be necessary for the immediate future. We have unmanned vehicles on mars doing months of scientific research and I can't get 18 miles to the gallon. I can make up a ton of conspiracy theories but the answer is always money. LLC's don't give a fvck about anything but the bottom line. Not to derail the thread but saw an incredible doc called Triton, about all the atomic bombs we set off, every one. Incredible. And that was just us, not to mention China, Russia, ect... That was a lot of radiation we spread throughout. I don't think I'll be surfing the Marshall Islands or Bikini Atoll any time soon.
Since when were plants only carbs? Archie, come on, you're better than that. It was an analogy... I have never been certified a nutritionist, just using a logical argument. I do have a degree in biomedical engineering, so I do have a better than average understanding of this subject. I am pretty sure you have never held elected office, yet you speak on politics like an expert.... Yes, I am a Tesla supporter and I disclosed that because it may subconsciously influence my beliefs (after all it is my money). The subsidies Tesla has received in the past decade pale in comparison to the decades of subsidies big oil has enjoyed. Either subsidies for NO ONE or subsidies for all, no picking and choosing. And since I still see plenty of oil and fracking subsidies going around, I don't see the problem with Tesla joining in. It is an American company, creating an American product, employing Americans. This more than what most other companies receiving subsidies for the Feds can say, no? Easy with STFU stuff Archie, it really diminishes the message you are trying to convey. If your point is so solid, you shouldn't have to back it up by telling people to STFU. A good point will make the opposition STFU on its own merit.
Oil prices are at an all time low and we are sitting on surpluses....why are we expanding offshore drilling rights? If you have a surplus of something, then you have a lack of demand....economics 101. So why continue to waste money/energy in off-shore drilling? More oil is not going to increase demand. Why do we continue to subsidize an industry in decline that is sitting on a surplus? And we do all this at the risk of polluting our oceans even further. So before you get all high and mighty about Tesla subsidies, remember, we waste plenty of subsidies on industries that are already dead, if not close to it (agriculture, oil, etc.). If we are going to keep throwing money at that crap without opposition, why not for Tesla? Tesla has the chance of revolutionizing industries, last I checked more oil won't secure our place as a world leader. But being on the forefront of the next big technological breakthru (sustainable & renewable guilt free energy) could def help us in that respect....much like being on the forefront of the internet did it for us in the 90's.... Just my .02 cents, take it or leave it...
Kyle makes some good points. I've often wondered why we rely so much on other countries for our oil. I mean, if we were Japan and had zero resources, I could understand. But I frequently read about how much we are able to produce and our surpluses, and wonder why we don't either become completely self sufficient, or supplement our abilities with other countries resources. My personal opinion is that there is a concerted effort by our decision makers to use up everybody else's sh!t until they tap themselves dry, then Voila! We have the entire globe by the nutz and charge them unrealistic prices, keeping us as the richest and most powerful nation.
Ok so let's say man made climate change is real and we follow the regulations imposed by the UN. The result will be a reduction in mean temperature of 0.2% over the next 10 years. So we're gonna put millions of people out of work and force many more into poverty, over extend our already over taxed welfare system, for a 0.2% reduction in temperature? Mind you that these climate scientists have been wrong so far to date about every prediction made and every year have to revise their studies and predictions. People who are screaming Chicken Little puhhlease. The real threat to our environment is industrial farming practicies, gmo plants and animals, and nuclear fission.
Exactly. The Paris accord happened because Obama circumvented Congress/Senate using executive overreach. Again one person without our reps on the state level put us in this mess. Obama basically steals all the taxpayers money (trillions by the way) and gives it to other countries which may or may not use it to combat carbon emissions. The Paris accord is wealth distribution on a global scale and should scare anyone who cares about sovereignty. There are parts in the accord (read it please) that talk about gender discrimination and racial discrimination in a bill that is passes as a environmental bill. You can't make this **** up. The bill does nothing to help the environment but rather a symbol. People are arguing because it was a symbol. Are you kidding me? Basically, they are saying it looks good to the world that we care about the environment while the rules in the accord can be changed at any time. Therefore, there are no rules set in stone. It even allows certain countries to increase carbon emissions. Businesses and corporations who really run government will benefit if these deals and the "so-called" new technologies (include carbon tax) come to fruition. That is why Elon Musk left because leaving the Paris Accords hurts his bottom line PERIOD! He is concerned about his shareholders and his business which is in this industry. Most liberals are outraged at us leaving the paris accord. Apparently they love redistribution of wealth on a global scale not just domestically. They support the Paris accord to look self-righteous. They want to post on facebook how much they care about the environment, that the world will end due to climate change and that the Paris accord is preventing our destruction. Meanwhile, the accord doesn't do anything to help the environment. These liberals then will get in their gas eating SUVS, go on vacation in jets that leave a huge carbon imprint, they will buy anything with plastic and they leave 1 acre of garbage a year in the landfill. They are the biggest hypocrites. You see they support things from a far but don't practice it personally. Literally the lowest scum. My thoughts are everyone should do their part on personal level to ensure we leave a safe and clean environment for future generations. Do we really need another global pact or global govt like the UN to tell us how to live our life. Apparently, liberals love the nanny state and now want it on a global level.
These idiots can't even get the weather right and they are talking about global temperature radiation and sea level caps. Just today they predicted overcast for the whole day and it's been sunny the whole day. Self-importance when they are meaningless. The planet laughs at their narcissism.
Yeah and what happened to more frequent and severe hurricanes? Fark. Haven't seen a good 'caine in deez parts in years. I remember as a kid in the 70's a caine came buy. Watched a roof fly down the street. Some of the worst ones to hit this area were in the early 1900's. According to Al Bore Manhattan should be underwater and polar bears should be extinct.
Good points on big oil and tesla. I just think all the liberal MSM headlines about Elon Musk leaving because it was a bad deal are a joke and liberal actually believe it. They don't even realize that it because Musk's business model and stock prices would take a hit. It's all about profits.
