Yes, the level of brainwashing is surely at an alarming rate.

It is amazing that people refuse to realize the human-nature relashonship change that took place last century. It is far too soon to know our effect, and when, or if some drastic change happens, it will be too late. That's the way of the world.

It is merely common sense. When you draw from something living, it will adapt to make up for the shortage. We are meant to use our natural resources, but not at the rate we have been. If you add to something living it will become bloated and get distorted. The petrochemical revolution is all that needs to be said of the latter (from landfills to cars).

Most of us were born into this rush-of-a-life society that was created. That's why I usually like the people I meet in the water. We tend to be more laid back because we have something to be grateful for and something which connects us to nature. We're lucky.

Put whatever label you want on it, the problem is a result of greedy, complacent people.

There's some fat for everyone to chew on.

 

Preach it. I would add greedy and short sitedness to the list.

 

Heres the short answer. People suck.

Even if global warming turned out to be a total hoax... There is nothing but good that can come from cleaning up and conserving for the future.

And these days, the opinions of the uninformed, opinionated and the rich, politically powerful weigh much more than those of the educated and informed.

The best is when the anti-environmentalists begin to blame the educational systems and non-corporate sponsored scientists for the theories.

Peer review my friends, peer review is the most important factor.

Stop complaining.


1, we have had two great weekends in a row. You arent now entitled to great waves every day.
2, go to a jetty like oc inlet and NSIRI that blocks the chop but still has all the swell.
3, for example, last weekend i was at NSIRI in the morning because the south winds made everything too blown out everywhere else. The jetty was a filter which made it just clean waist/chest lines. Then when the wind switched, i had the luxury to go to dumps and have a great session with 3 others at the whole beach. so many perfect spitting waves went unridden. I got all the others.

Dont cry, just surf wether it is flat, knee high, or overhead and epic. It is still better than school or work.

yeah i have to agree with wonton... as a surfer you should be used to the act of adapting to the changing patterns.... always looking for that glassy shoulder... enjoying the challenges involved in the attempt to ride the rhythms of the atom. it beats the shart out of school and work for sure.
