Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts to the new gloves out there. I have owned 2mm 3mm and 5mm gloves. The 5mm were Oneil and have not fallen apart, I still have them. All of the others last for one season and aren't too warm. Seems like the outside of the gloves should have more rubber. Thoughts? Since I've tried Ripcurl, Billabong, and Oneil in the 2mm and 3mm gloves, I was thinking Hyperflex because I've heard they are decent and not pricy.
I've found the same thing happening with my thinner gloves... they tend to let water through after about one year (two seasons... spring and fall). The seams don't fail, they just don't seem to retain water in the rubber like they should. I guess the manufacturers figure the water's not that cold anyway, so they go for offering a lower price point instead of longevity.
The one pair of Hyperflex gloves i bought were junk from the first session...cold and leaky. I have also had bad luck with Xcel Drylock gloves falling apart because they are such a chore to pull on. Last winter i picked up some O'Neill Psycho 5 mm. gloves. After maybe a two dozen sessions they are holding up 100% and are warm and grippy. Ive had good luck with O'Neill gloves in the past as well.

I like the Rip Curl Flash Bomb booties (boots) and gloves--especially the boots (booties) since they are the only kind I have ever found that dry quick enough to not smell.
I just tried out the 2mm Quik NEOGOO gloves and while they seal water well, the liquid neoprene finish on the gloves ABSOLUTELY SUCKS for grip. It's like having Vaseline on your fingers. Solved one problem and created another...
