Hey I left the whole golden shower part alone, could have been worse but I already got an infraction for snapping on the two middle school boy douches of SI earlier.

I got one as a gift.
Used it for about a week, now it sits under my desk.

Id say take the 350 and put it toward a new board.

I like mine. The black has the most options so it's more expensive. You can always have more mounts but my handlebar mount is the mist versatile. I've used it for lots of stuff but been the least pleased with it while surfing. It drastically shrinks the wave.

Maybe it's just me but I don't like 'em.

They look dorky stuck to the board of a less-than-average surfer - or worse still on their head like some perverse aqua-miner.

Sure I love to see the footage from an ASP-level surfer threading tubes in Fiji but I'm not gonna get one.

Save your money for a new board or surf trip.

    My $0.02.

I got the silver I use mostly for when i go to the skate park. I have yet to take it in the water. If u have a smart phone you get the gopro app and link up to the cameras wifi and control everything off ur phone.

I have the silver, and I can't imagine the benefits of going black (at least in the world of GoPro). It takes amazing pics and seems to stand up to anything. Mine has been crashed, drowned and generally abused for 2 years with no ill effects.

I'm not crazy about surfing with it for a few reasons:

    1. It can make pretty much anyone look like a kook, even if you surf really well
    2. All of your friends will want to ride your board and you will be responsible for getting them their videos
    3. You'll see your own accidental breaches of surf etiquette, which are pretty surprising

But the novelty of it will last a while, and I always figure someday I'll look back at the stills and be glad to have them.

they were cool in like 2012. every single angle/shot with a gopro has been super over-done and any type of gopro footy is not entertaining to me at all. their main market is for kids who don't know how to work a real camcorder so they get a fully auto gopro and make an edit of them surfing/longboarding/scootering to sail by awolnation. s**t is super played out.

and don't even get me started with kids who film skating with a gopro..

but you never know, i was pretty impressed with the footage that koa smith produced with his gopro at skeleton bay.

it was cool for about one session on a really small longboard day. Spear fishing footage is pretty cool with it attached to the gun...those are my only experiences.

Actually you can change setting in the silver off the phone app to give it different Depth and Fish Eye too. I just set it up on a mini tripod that I have and film different lines when I skate FDR or my local park
