Ill be surfing in Oz in a few months.
Trying to book all the inter-Australia flights.
I was curious..is it worth going to see the Great Barrier reef? it takes almost 3 days out of the trip, the flight is a good 4 hours to the decent part (Cairns) from Torquay.
    Hmm?

Yes it is worth it. You will want more than a few days. I spent a week there diving and it wasn't enough time.

Ill be there for 15 days, snorkeling the Eyre Peninsula and Torqay. The option is to either do 3 -4 nights in Byron Bay or go to the reef.

Totally worth it. Recommend an overnight on the reef. Squeeze in both if you can. Byron is sick but if you are short on time you will be fine with 1 or 2 nights there.

Definitely worth going to the reef but you have to go to byron bay too. And if your into the greenery make the hour drive west into nimbin from byron bay. They have a museum with the worlds largest spliff. Plus you may run into greenough in byron.

There is no time to do Byron / Reef. Is either one or the other unfortunately.
Just concerned with going to the reef because of the travel time, its about a 4 hour flight to Cairns for good reef.
