we are flying into LAX March 2-7. We havent settled on any specific location yet. does anyone have any advise as to what areas pick up swell in march. My gf is pretty set on Huntington. I'm thinking if the swell trends more North we may need to get out from the catalina/channel island shadow.
march sees its fair share of energy from both the southern and northern hemispheres. you'll want to be at a spot that is well exposed to both. most of southern california can churn out decent waves on combo swells, but you'll want to stay away from places like santa barbara and the santa monica bay (both are mostly blocked from direct south swells)
