I am visiting Chincoteague VA sometimes this month. Is there any good surfing or bodyboarding spots? Thanks.

i go down to chincoteague alot, you can really only get to the beach from one spot at the park, but if you are willing to walk far enough down you can hit some really good spots. It breaks far out in front of the parking lot usually which sucks cus the waves get weak with the high tide easily but if you take a walk down to your left for around a mile the break changes and it is closer in and to my experience alot better shaped, but the sand changes alot ou there and you can never know

I surf there all the time. Right now there is a semi point break just north of the parking lot that has been created by the storms this winter. Long rights and good left. You can walk out on the sand bar for quite a distance. It cut out a big piece of beach. There are now lots of spots way up the beach that even work on high tide if you head up to the first road area beyond the hole. I've had some super long sessions and all alone in the water. Nice time to be there. Enjoy. Breaking best at dropping tide.

There are a few sandbars scattered around. the Hook sometimes breaks. You can also take a boat out to Cedar Island and some of the other islands down there.
