Chavez, it's a surfing in a prohibited zone ticket, right?

    Shine-it.

And the dude don't live in VA Beach.

States rights and all of that.......Wow, what aggressive laws y'all have down in the south. LOL !!

There's a great deal of satisfaction that comes with beating/screwing the legal system.

Would a cop actually show up in court for a Surfing in a Prohibited Zone?

Well they don't ask for ID they ask for SSN.

I grew up in PWC but I am actually a VB resident now.

Either way I want to at least go to court... but I rather not waste a vacation day on that ****...

I had a cop show up on his day off for my court appearances. He had his toddler-ages son with him. he was hell bent to see me fry. So you never know with these guys.
    The Chavez Defense:
"The Officer did not see me in possession of narcotics."
"The Officer did not see me consuming narcotics."
"The Officer did not see me selling or manufacturing narcotics.'
    Boom. Not guilty.

Ah just pay the $80 bucks unless sitting around court to try and get it reduced is something worth while. I mean it's only $80 bucks and a surfing violation so what could they possibly reduce it to?

Ax for a payment plan. Make them wait.

    Man, summer is harsh, huh?

You know your SS# by heart?

One year they came in a boat. everyone out just paddle inside, except a young kid. They yanked him in the boat by his hair and wrote him a waterproof ticket . by that time the tide took them out and piggies just tossed him overboard to make his way back in.

My buddy and I were surfing after 10am and before 5 pm at the S side of the pier, one of two designated areas, back then. He drifted too close to the pier and paddled in. A boar and a sow were dressed in touron attire, jumped up in front of him, and wrote him a ticket. since he had no ID, they took his board. He got it back when he showed up to the sty with proper identification.

Don't show up for the court date and make em issue a bench warrant for failure to appear and hopefully you can do just enough to get arrested and then turn it into a realty show! That $hit has got to work.

No way they took his board! imminent threat ? don't think so. Public nuisance ? na! No one has the right to take some one else's $hit! Alas I am not an attorney.

Cavs is history. They really should open up the 42nd st break as a surf zone now as a north end option for surfing during the summer. Ridiculous.

Once when I was a kid my leash broke and washed in at a public beach during big onshore hurricane swell/slop. A lone lifeguard was there and had my board in his hand. He started yelling at me that I had no business in the ocean, the beach was closed, he was there to keep everyone out, blah blah blah. I tried to tell him that I drifted from way way up the beach, no disrespect intended. He told me he was taking my board. My buddy told him (we were in our teens) we would come back and burn the tower down, and blow up his car. He paused, gave me my board back, and told me to leave.

I heard vb has free beaches is that true?

reading threads like this actually make me appreciate jersey more.sure it sucks,no parking in the summer, traffic out the azz, beach badges, but we do have private beaches that nobody uses, just have to know someone who lives there since theres no parking.and if u do park and ur gone longer than an hour u will be towed.

but winter makes up for it all.no traffic,no people, free beaches,parking,wavesssssss....lol the exact opposite of summer.I still don't get why new Yorkers come here, they have their own beaches.

attention,if ur liscense plate says ny,and ur driving in the fast lane on the garden state parkway doing 50 mph when its 65,please move to the slow lane.average speed in the fast lane is 90mph.please move

Those rules seem to apply everywhere and surfers aren't getting a fair shake. That crap has been going on too long. Aren't we bathers too? Fire up those petitions and best of luck. Stand up for your rights!

Tell em you want a jury of your peers, and your peers are all surfers. Good luck getting a dozen surfers to show up for jury duty. Take it all the way to the SCOTUS. Fight the power man!
