i'm a beginner and usually ride in jersey. looking to upgrade and down size from my 8ft soft top. i've been trying to do my homework and it sounds like a large fish would be right for me but not looking for new. i'm 5'5, 160lbs.
anyone have a board they wanna sell? thanks

yeah i didnt think youd be ready to drop down that far yet, you probably need an in between type board first, good luck though theres a lot of people selling stuff for cheap this time of year, check out craigslist

    Fat retro fish

Spontaniously, last year I bought a fat fish when I was down in Cape Hatteras. (I had 3 boards, a squash, pin, and funboard) Thought I'd get something retro, this is the exact type of board I learned to surf on back in the 70's !!!.

I almost traded it in for one of those new Firewire's. They were going to give me $300 for it (paid 650) at Whalebone in Hatteras but I wanted a tad bit more. Now I'm actually looking at getting into Kiteboarding before I'm to old, that's going to set me back about $2000... ouch, so now I'm selling not only my board, but XBOX, Laptop and whatever else I can find laying  around LOL

So the board's a 6'6" Chris Birch glossy with glass on balsa fins. Extremely retro and is a blast up to head high surf... really fun in 2-4 fast beach breaks. Catches and takes off really easy, stable like a funboard but twice as loose. I've grown up surfing all my life, lived in Ca for 15 yrs, Hawaii for 7, Guam and Japan. Surfed all over the Pacific and fact... => you would have a blast on this board, and it's long enough so it'll be easy to learn on.

Don't know if you're still lookin, might be outta your price range too, but if you want me to send you a pic let me know. Peace out !
