To true. But I rather it dine on some fine Canadian meat that end up all the time in the surf area at Croatan. Feel sorry for the lifeguards trying to explain what a surf area is to someone who doesn't speak much English.

Were they in the fish tourney? Because I thought the article said that they were shark fishing... and not knowing what type of shark it is when shark fishing sounds pretty lame. I want pictures or its just the pilots way to get some sharkweek media. We know the landlords or lawyers of the deep are always there; but I'm more interested in the dolphins beaching themselves all around our area.

They were hooked up to a 4' Atlantic sharpnose shark. GW hit that shark and spit it out then moved on to 1/2 a menhaden on the other side of the boat. It was 5' from the boat at that point but then it drug them 4-5 more miles out to sea before they had to cut the line. So they never got much more of a look at it other than the initial encounter.

The story is real. I was having a few brews w/ neighbors and they got a text and pic from someone on the boat about half way through the ordeal.

Yeah one of my employees was telling me about it prior to it hitting the paper; but I still think the pilot or maybe the great white itself is playing into sharkweek. Shark just trying to get some free camera time maybe and left early because he saw that the crew all had crappy cellphones and not one gopro ;)

Did you hear about the Great White that they had to force out of Rudee's Inlet last year or the year prior? Another person told me about that; but can't find ANYTHING in the news about it.

Never heard about that one. And I'm glad I didn't.

Been surfing since early 80's and never thought too much about sharks until I started frequenting this forum. Also, didn't realize so many people got spooked out in the water. Now it crosses my mind every now and then during the solo DP sessions. At least until the next set rolls in
