awesome is there going to be a webcast?i hope so....

should be one of the best contests in a long time,puerto is heavy beachbreak,not like a reef or slab where u got channels where its safe,everyones going to take a beating.hopefully they don't use jetski assist to getting back out,which I'm sure they will.i just like to watch and learn how to take a 30 footer on the head like a beast.

Two things come to mind watching the highlights

1) seeing sand get sucked up the face on a wave that big....That's sketchy. I never want to experience that.

2) it's so cool to see a long island guy in a big wave context and actually do well. Will Skuden is perfect example that if you want to achieve anything you can. Who ever would of thought a east coast guy would be a big wave surfer, and do really well. The hobgoods and Slater, yea that's cool to. But that's not big waves. It's allot more impressive in my book

 

It is impressive. But I think you need to take another look at Damien Hobgood. And Kelly at Mavericks, Waimea and Jaws. Those dudes can do it all
