    Has anybody seen this:

Cork board with a fiberglass bottom. From what I gather, it is in the testing phase now, and they plan to sell it for about the same price as a normal bodyboard.

Saw an article in the inertia on this the other day...I reached out to the guy to inquire aboot possibly getting one to test on the EC...possi ble but improb able, but the dude was really cool. Supposedly they haul arse.

I definitely want to try one. My only concern is will you be able to aggressively approach the lip on one...but even if you can just get speed hauls and barrels I'd be pumped.

Interesting design...it looks aboot half the thickness of a normal bb...Stringers?
    Boosting seems questionable.....

Cork is water resistant, rot resistant, ding resistant and compression resistant. Therefore, cork boards will not suffer a ding, become water-logged and need to be replaced prematurely

    Sounds good!

Apologies for a cookie question but what's boosting?

Stringer-wise I think it may be the same deal as CV surfboards - aka none, but then from what I've seen the rails create a sort of shell reinforcement.
Some say CV surfboards don't require wax, and supposedly last longer. May be the same deal here.
I'd be curious to check one out even though I don't know the first thing about bodyboarding :)

Definitely looks like way less flotation than a boog, something that I have been thinking about recently. Seems like you could adjust flex by messing with the fiberglass lay-up, so it might not need stringers. I like that they are going with standard shapes.

Well of cork! Why didn't anyone think of that before? Cork is the perfect material for a bodyboard.

    Neat idea. Progressive for sure.

However it looks fragile and the thing I like about bbs is they are knock around sponges.

Cool idear. Not much into the BB deal, but do love me some bodysurfin. There have been times where I wished I had a sponge though, just to get that little extra float. Cork boards... Guess that could usher in a whole new lingo. Corkers ride 'em... Blastin a big air could be poppin a cork...

Yeah but then you'd prolly have displacement issue's....the stringers out these days truly do give you lots of pop and perfect flex....popp'n corks...I likez dat....

Pretty crazy how advanced modern bodyboards are. What do you mean by displacement issues?

Weight displacement assuming you were saying layering the fiber glass in different areas to control flex...yeah man new board tech especially all the new blended cores are awesome...
