Thanks for the positive words, Sponge. I am looking at it this way; I will be making positive progress when next I go out I get two feet further than the last time in the interim I am trying reading sets and breaks as I try to catch any profferings from the soup ;D. G
you got a very very long road to hoe if youre working toward losing kook status dude. and the surf shop guy was just being nice and trying to sell you stuff
Surfing is hard; I'm not expecting anything but needing keeping at it to even master paddling before I get to the next step of riding. As to the fellow that helped me from the shop, I have no misunderstandings where I stand with him in regards to his "just being nice" because, just so long as he is nice is enough. If I build up friends here that will accept me as a friend, I'm sure that will happen over time. I've met a lot of very cool people while out at the beaches. I've even made some that I can say are my friend
And if anyone in CI for the week wants to stop at the "Inn", I will be here on the deck bar most evenings this week if you want to stop in, have a beer on my tab, and talk surfing and whatever.
thought you were done trolling the gruvi but hey thanks. i hoe my roads and ride my hoes. you keep on rowing ya ding dong
i aint farmin and gruvi most assuredly hoes roads,or rows or hoes, whateva. ps, i guess road doesnt make sense, huh
That's awesome, Gruvi...that's the only way your going to get good at surfing, because after all if you can't get out to the wave it's kinda hard to surf the wave. Get it, gruv! Paddle..Paddle..
Think of us as your mean older brother that teaches u the hard way...we have given u a lot of invaluable advice thru tough love. Good luck to ya. Also u better not be wearing a 4/3 or Im gonna kick your a$$!
I vote that "gruvi" is a fake (if it already hasn't been said, I didn't feel like searching through the threads)
That was me. Tell me you were the guy that said, "I'm waiting until later, it's too epic for me right now."
By the way, if you charged yesterday, I'll give you a few props. There were a few pounding overhead closeouts Sunday morning. After a couple rides and eating a crap sandwich combined with the freezing air temp I had enough for the day.
Gruvi Nice progress report. Dolphins definitely surf. I once shared a wave with one down on OBX. He shoulder hopped on my wave, but it was cool, it was a really long wall, and he was 20-30 yards ahead of me. Paddling tip: watch for sets, wait for a lull, paddle like hell. I've paddled out with dry hair on overhead days.
