Come on man.... You can't let the world dictate how you feel about yourself. That's why you come on here telling everyone your adventures in the first place. Then when they shoot you down you get pissed and upset. If I'm in a lineup and some dude is going on and on about each wave he got or how bad his wipeout is, I ignore him....not because I'm an a-hole, but because it happens to everyone and I'm surfing to escape self absorbed people like that. Little victories, Gruvi, are for you and you alone. They mean more that way. Next time, perfect the turtle roll and be proud you got out the back without being "pitted" or pinned or whatever. But nobody needs to know but you, then you can be stoked and not get knocked down. Also, the chick at the grocery store is probably some kid with a crappy summer job. You were a teenager once....you know what it's like. Its nice to have validation and have people tell you how great you are doing (especially in today's social climate), but no one tells a young osprey how good it flies while its learning, they master the air on their own merit. I sound all spiritual but really I weighed myself before and after taking a dump and the results are hilarious.

People like to feel important, Gruvi. And for people who don't have anything to feel important aboot, they get it from their area or zipcode. Really look at how sad that is. No one cares aboot AI. Nobody thinks people from AI are "cool." And deep down they know this. So they band together and form a bond of comradiery through the fact that they happen to be permanent residents of some island. Woopy de friggin doo. I mean, they ain't even from Jersey. Yeah the whole, " I hate tourist" thing is for kids and assholes who have no other means of feeling good aboot themselves. Yeah but, you especially Pump, live in areas that were originated to be summer resorts. C'mon Pump, half the charm of your area is that it becomes South Philly in the summer. And really, whether you're in Abington, PA or Cape May County we're all the same peeps. The whole area is all of ours. South Jersey is Philadelphia. All South Jersey families have SE PA roots if you look far enough back. Except for the Leed's. I got nothing but love for SE PA, Northern Delaware and South Jersey. Actually, I like all of Delaware. And well, some of Bucks County, PA I could do without. Hey is Mack's Pizza still good? Man, I'm coming down there one of these days and I'm going to play skee ball and eat pizza. Oh log ride, too. And you better be nice to the Canadians, Pump. Canada is awesome.

im actually a pretty nice guy bear. I'm passed the whole 'f&ck toruist' thing. about the only two things that will get me aggro is repeated drop ins and somebody paddling out where i am if there is nobody within hundreds of yards from me.
God, that is definitely the one that kills me. Pisses me off so bad. On a crowded day I pretty much expect to get dropped in on, but if I'm the only one (or me and a buddy) for a few hundred yards, that sh** is just infuriating.
Of course, sometimes there's no other option. Reef breaks, point breaks, and a certain southern NJ island with jetties every block.
UNLESS.... She's wearing the proper sized wetty (100% form fitting) and has a face of at least a 7. Then you get the numbers to dial if not an agreement to grab a drink once you leave the break. Together. Boom. Charging may not be a sport but sarging is!
