Gull Wing BLEF fin

I really don't have time for this ****. The base fits the box and does not need sanding. The god damn pin is too wide in diameter to fit the groove of the box. This is not ****ing China! This is America and we don't put up with shoddy ****. If the fin works, at his point I don't give rats ass. i was tring to throw a guy a ****ing rope, and the sheep bugger hanged himself. Give me your mailing address Roy. You can have it back. I didn't want if for free. I just wanted to try it out and pass it on. I tried to give you every benefit of the doubt, but you proved to be an asshole. And a crappy fin maker.

Wow. Roy Dude. Don't think any of us here were tryin to scam you out of free fins. Despite apparent overwhelming distrust, skepticism, and even hate, these dudes were willing to test drive your stuff and give a fair review. I too sensed the air of hopeful anxiety in the crowd. This is kind of how I thought this might end. Roy you took a guy who was trying his best to help you score some points here and treated him like and a$$hat. Like Emass said it was all light hearted ribbing till you showed your true colors.

Considering you made a chill dude like sisurfdogg mad and proved you are a piece of crap business man I would venture to say you should take your crappy fins and boards and find a new site to exploit for free ad space. If you're serious about getting rid of it...pm me. I'll take and review it...regardless of The fin issue, Roy's perceived attitude, etc. it's all part of the review in my opinion.

The only issue, gnome, is that you produced an inferior product. sisurfdogg is spot-on with his remarks, as is everyone else who took issue with your cheese grater aka barf-fin.

 

I never said I wanted it to end that way just that given you were involved I firgured it would end that way. I have bought 20+ fins for boxes and NEVER have I had to file or sand down anything! I guess Rainbow, Ames and the others just make a better fin than a brain dead piece of crap Gnome form NZ. I guess we now know that NZ craftsmanship is right on par with the junk coming out of China huh sheep boy.

not for nothing sisurfdogg, but if the gnome did indeed send you 5 free fins with the idea of a performance review, then you should approach the time frame slightly differently than just going for your normal surf. you can't make waves but you can try to get in the water as soon as possible.

Also what is the big deal with having to sand 1mm off the fin to fit it? I say give Roy a break and get down to testing..... if you can't send it to me I'll take the ol'bleffer out.

 

What are you talking about^^^^^? I'm not Wayne nor even claimed to be...I'll give you the benefit of the doubt maybe you misread my post. But just to summarize: SIsurfdogg didn't even ride the fin...fin didn't fit and he said he would send it back to Roy after being flamed by Roy. If that is the case send it over to me...if I wanted to "mooch" I would have either bought one or put my name on the list. However, if SI isn't even going to ride it...I'll take it. Plain and simple...

Why not act like an adult and you give the fin a whirl and give an honest opinion if you are able. If the performance characteristics of the fin sucks...post about it...if you need me to...I'll sand the base for you a bit and send it to you...otherwise you are acting worse than my 5 year old. Roy sent out the fin...we all know that sometimes is a bit rough around the edges...so what...he did send out a few fins and looking for a review. Review it...if its an inferior product after you held it in your hand and tried it out--destroy him with your so-called forum "hate"...at this point, you haven't seen it or ridden it and have zero credibility in my opinion regarding a review. You are just talking out of your a$$ at this point...why not act like you have a pair and ride the fin and quit slandering the product...that is...if you actually do surf...

 

Roy, the behaviour on this thread is really demoralising. That's nice that you've established a programme to help these guys test your surfing accoutrements, but the tempre you displayed was quite shocking.


Are you not a businessman? You do realise that by having a Black Friday special, you are capitalising on the culture of American consumerism right? I harbour no ill will, I'm just asking questions.

 

I am going to take the fin to a surf shop and get an objective opinion of if it is my box, the fin base, or the metal pin on the back of the fin that is the problem. Egos aside, I still want to try it out, and before I send it to another sweller as planned, I don't want to ruin it trying to make it fit. In my opinion, and I am not a fin expert by any means, the metal pin is too big in width. It will drop down into the box on the vertical entry groove, but once it seats into the in box, it will not slide in either direction. For the tenth time, it will probably need some filing or grinding of the hardware. Sanding down the plastic base will not matter. But before I take it to a shop to get milled so it will slide back an forth in the box, I will take it to a surf shop owned by a friend, and see what he thinks. This will be my last post on this subject until then. G'day sirs!
