Hey everyone im new to surfing and my wife bought me a gun type surfboard. its 7'6". i have riden more than 10 times with a long board and a short board but never a gun. i know they are a big wave surfboard but can i still ride it in the overhead or waist to head high stuff? please help! thanks!
Sure, it will ride waves. But you won't get anywhere near the potential of the board in anything under head high.
plus, for a beginner, it would be easier to ride a longboard. But, depending on the shape of the gun, it might be easier to ride then a shortboard for a beginner.
Unless the wave is really powerfull a gun will be really difficult to ride. They are so narrow with too much rocker for smaller mushy waves.
