wow that's astonishing.now I feel like Baltimore aint shyt lol.I don't know how I never heard about this, probably because they try to keep shyt like that on the down low.only in the ghettos they can get away with shyt like that.I guess that's why the Baltimore situation they don't care about burning down their own city because they never had shyt and don't want others to have nice things. I was discussing the whole racism thing with my co worker today about where and when did it start.i get the whole slave thing and the kkk,but to actually go out of your way to hate another because they are black or jew or whatever.I may be a semi-racist,but I don't look out my window like "hey n***er gitt" lol,I watched the jacki robinson movie yesterday that's where this stems from and I just don't get it,like why!!???
I've told about my mixed race kids and grandkids, etc. This race stuff really bugs me. Electing Obama was supposed to fix all this. Hey, LOOK! We put a brother in the White House! It's all good now, right? Nope. It's gettin much worse real fast. That sucks.
That it is (getting worse). Not good for our nation, not one bit & certainly not ok for our fellow Americans. The real trouble is going to come when someone finally gets elected on a platform of subliminal, passive aggressive race & religious hatin'....and then takes it & turns this country out with it. People say, nah, never happen, not in America. That's what people said about Germany, too.
I was just watching Fox news interviewing the attorney for the family of Freddie Gray. I swear to god the question Megyn Kelly asked him was "since the DA who is conducting the investigation (into the death of Freddy Gray in police custody) is black, won't you accept the results of her investigation, even if she finds no wrongdoing?" It kind of blew me away that she would ask such a dumb and blatantly racist question, but I guess that's kind not surprising...There really are a lot of people who oversimplify race relations to the point of assuming that electing any black person to president would move the needle a long way towards improved racial relations...just because he's black and he got elected pres. What a fvcking joke!
Mitchell... saw that during break in Caps game. It may not have been an appropriate question by her. She was trying to make a point about the people who cried foul in the ferguson investigation because the DA was white. But that has nothing to do with this situation nor was it a fair question to ask the families attorney. Their view of the investigation, as he stated, would be determined by how it is conducted. I think the sooner we get away from races and realize we are one human race, the better off we will be. Certainly we can celebrate heritage and culture, but thinking ones race should make a difference (provide advantage or disadvantage) is a bad road to be on.
I typically refrain from these types of discussions, but fvck it. Did you even watch the whole interview? If you did, then you would have seen the question in context, as I did. Right before Kelly asked the attorney that, he had implied that there was a (potentially) racial bias component to the findings/lack of transparency/police investigation results not yet being released. Kelly then asked the question that you reference, in the context that there is a black attorney general, black police chief, black mayor, and wanted to know if that removed the (potential) racial bias. When the attorney balked at her question, she immediately followed up with the fact that there were many people who criticized the Ferguson case, saying that the Brown case didn't get a fair shake because the Ferguson DA is white. The attorney then danced around the issue, and refused to say whether (or not) the Gray family would accept the "verdict" (I use that term for lack of a better one), if said verdict was one that cleared the police of any wrongdoing. This went on for a good two or three minutes, ending with Kelly commenting that the attorney refused to answer her question. HE was the one who first injected the idea of racial bias into the discussion, and she simply asked him if the fact that there are many African-Americans in prominent positions helped eliminate that bias. He would not answer that question. If you think that's racist, whatever... You want to bash fox news, republicans, whoever, go ahead. I don't give a sh!t. But at the very least, accurately represent the facts, as opposed to a bunch of hyperbole that doesn't tell the full story.
White Power. And if you think that is racist for me to say, then you are part of the problem in America
If i wanted to bash Fox News or Republicans i would have just done so. What on earth does "republicans" have to do with this anyway? I was watching Fox because I like seeing the point of view they bring - does being critical of ONE thing i see mean I'm bashing? What i was doing was being bummed seeing a major media outlet asking a family attorney if they would accept a DA "verdict" just because the DA is the same race/color/whatever as the family. I think it's a weak question and racist point of view, even with the context you provided (which i did see) and even if the person being interviewed expresses similar racist views.. Sorry to stir things up...believe me i get as annoyed at much of the awful slanted news commentary I see on other networks like MSNBC.
I followed the word republicans, with "whoever" implying that I don't care who you or anyone else bashes, if you or anyone chose to do so (or not- it's up to you), it's no skin off my back and doesn't affect me or my life either way. You could also throw in the words liberals, democrats, purple martians, nazis, etc. My larger point was to express my frustration with the all-to-common practice of only partially representing a situation/taking something out of context. Again, at the risk of being redundant, IMHO, the question was perfectly legit on the following grounds: The attorney being interviewed blatantly implied that the Freddie Gray case may not get a fair shake because of racial bias. Megyn (or however the hell she spells her name) Kelly then asked if the fact that there is a black mayor, a black police chief, and a black DA would have any effect on removing racial bias. How is that a weak question or a racist point of view when it is asked in response to/challenging the viewpoint of a lawyer who is implying that the results/verdict/whatever may be tainted solely because of racial bias. The attorney was obliquely using the race issue to imply that if the police aren't found guilty of some sort of misconduct, then the only plausible rationale is racism. That, is pure unadulterated bullsh!t IMO. Just because you don't get the result you thought you would or wanted, or that maybe Mr. Gray had a hand in his own death (I honestly don't know, because I wasn't there), that there MUST be a racial bias is such crap. Racism is broadly defined as believing someone is inferior to another because of their race. I genuinely do not see how that applies to this situation. Don't mistake that for a lack of understanding on how people are using race in this broader discussion. Racism is a real and terrible thing, and it still happens (albeit a lot less than it used to when it was state sanctioned pre-civil rights movement). However, I think people should look long and hard at the choices they are making, and whether they are making poor decisions or not, and the effect that may have on their life...take some personal responsibility for their actions, before screaming that racists and racism is responsible for their situation.
if the police aren't found guilt, that means they investigated themselves and found nothing wrong. The most plausible explanation (put forth by Riley) is the Gray was given a rough ride (as cops are want to do) and as a result suffered a catastrophic injury for which treatment was withheld. This notion that he tried to injure himself is bullsh!t.
I personally think that the rough ride is the most plausible explanation. My only reason in bringing up that he could have done it was to make the point that there are other explanations outside of a racially motivated killing that the attorney was peddling.
I will bet these cops get off. They never get jail time. At most, they get a slap on the wrist and paid leave for a little while. The crazy thing is the punishment should be greater than a citizen. Since our tax dollars pay these aholes, the public should vote on the punishment. I was pissed to hear what the people in Baltimore did to those firefighters. That is ****ed up. I have the most respect for firefighters. They put themselves in harms way to save/help people. They are the exact opposite of cops who rarely help people. Instead they ruin your day/week/month/year with a bs traffic violation or other stupid fine to generate revenue which then cause your insurance rates to hike up. They are such a buzzkill and I really could do without them. Control freaks with egos. Don't listen to me and I'll shoot. Go **** yourself.
One of the most outlandish things every carried out by the PHL Police Dept. The protest yesterday was heated but civil and organized..Knights of Islam were out in full force of course pushing their agendas.. Ah man those dudes really hate crackaz
Matt - i dont want to beat up this topic. We both saw it and had somewhat different reactions...all good.
