Everybody Be it catching a wave, saving a rodent, or enjoying a plant. All gifts from Mom. Today - say thank you, and have a great day
considering when it was first started (1970) and the progress we have (not) made since then..... earth day is kinda sad. all of japans' nukes were turned off after fuku; ystdy at least 1 was turned on. somebody (hello drone fans) droned a low level alleged radiation attack on the PM's building.
This is an amazing video. Only one EVER to show our planet from this vantage. And Pump's weeds get a 24 hour stay of execution. http://www.latimes.com/science/sciencenow/la-sci-sn-nasa-juno-spacecraft-video-20131211-story.html#axzz2nGPWqaDL
actually Baddy, we have made gigantic progress since the 70s. look at the horrible pollution in the rust belt then vs now.
the 'blue' planet is fragile. dumb humans can't seem to correctly prioritize this. cool video though.
pump we could play racket-ball with this issue all day long and i agree gains have been made; in a surfing context the tar no longer washes up on NJ beaches and syringes and jelly-fish blooms seem to be old news. ying. yang. mid-ocean garbage patch COMBINED with our efforts to address it. fukushima. middle-east nukes about to spin out of control. autism allegedly has a "toxicity" connection. like i said i could go on and on......but instead of that why don't you go see 'INTERSTELLAR." pay attention to the reasons why humanity had to leave. ficticious? sure but how many times can we dodge our self-created bullets?
I wasn't a McConaughey fan until I saw him in Mud and Dallas Buyer's Club. I think we, the USA have gotten better, but the third world, moving towards second and first world economies are still pretty terrible. And we can't regulate them.
If I could, to celebrate and honour the Earth today, I'd kill Ted Nugent with my own bare hands. I'd keep his scalp and feed it bread crumbs. But since I can't, I'll go to "the place where we dig holes in the ground" and pick up garbage.
I agree. I find earth day to be sad and depressing. And human population has doubled since 1970, that's the root of all the environmental problems.
Yep, and in the US they are all moving to the south east it seems. The developers here are mowing down the barrier islands and filling them with town homes, condominiums, sprawl marts ect. The developers actually want to build on Captain Sams spit out off of Kiawah Island. It's basically a friggin sandbar. Go figure? I guess we will pave the harbor at some point.
This is a tough one. The folks smart enough to just make a kid or 2 are doing so. Those who ain't, well they're pumpin out herds of future dumbasses. What's Nugent doin to hurt the planet? Lost me there. Ted shreds the guitar, but likes to hunt. I'm gonna mulch my yard for the landlord, and make it more eco friendly, save water, etc. Y'all have a good'n.
Paulie Ted has called for the illegal poaching of wolves through various electronic channels multiple times. And he adds greatly to the hype and misinformation that is the cornerstone of wolf hate. That's why I'd like to dispatch him.
I definitely agree with this point. Something has to give...I mean with all of the disease, war, natural disasters (and man made), and still the population of the world is in my opinion maxing out...It's like breaking past third reef and unridable! Traffic around any metro area whether Hong Kong, LA, DC, Tokyo or NYC is so ridiculous. I hate traffic. BTW, whats wrong with Ted Nugent? Just curious.
JayD peep what I wrote above. That's just me man... Also, the NRA(of which he is a board member) is not just about guns, they are behind some shady sh!t brewing in regards to our public lands...
Happy Earth Day. Have fun debating non-sense and mis-information in here on both sides. I for one am going to see my way out.
