Be safe, gang. Stayin' home with wife and fam. Fire in the fireplace, playing cards at the kitchen table, drinking vodka & ginger ale, and building crazy sh*t, outta Legos. As Barry would a say: Happy New Years, ya mor-rons!
Drive fast, take chances and get home first!!!! Hahahaha Barneys!! Happy New Year if you make it to 2017!!!
Roaring fire in the fireplace, listening to music, and sipping my hot Russian tea; here is my mother's old recipe: Southern Style Hot Russian Tea Ingredients: 4 decaf, family-size green tea bags 1 quart of water 8 large oranges 4 large lemons 1 pineapple 15 whole cloves 10 cinnamon sticks 1/2 cup of sugar Remove the rind and juice the fruit, ensuring that you add all pulp and remove any seeds. Bring tea to boil, quickly remove, cover and steep for five minutes. Add the juices and spices, recover and simmer on low, until the aroma fills the house. I purchased these for my two new dogs, as a Christmas gift: http://www.entirelypets.com/petsport-tug-max.html?gclid=CLnQzPuHoNECFdgQgQodV9sC3w I utilized non-toxic markers to scratch out the brand name, inscribing one with the name "Bass" , the other with the name, "Mon2". I have properly agitated both dogs individually, daily, ever since Christmas morning, but I have yet to let them have a go at it together, and so they are basically salivating to set upon them, now. I have been patiently waiting until the witching hour, which is only 30 minutes away...
Gave up on the Legos. Listening to some Pete Fountain New Orleans jazz while sippin' eggnog with a little rum. 8 minutes 'til 2017...
Stayed in and had grape jelly meatballs, pigs in a blanket, root beer floats and sparkling non-alcoholic cider. Just hung with my best friend and my nephew at home and watched hockey. My 18 year old nephew did all the cooking, as I'm good for nothing but microwaveable foods, basic oven stuff and take out haha. Hoping for some surf tomorrow afternoon, if not just a couple hours worth when I get some time. Happy new year all, hope it's a great year for everyone and with lots of waves!
Mary Astor, the daughter of the very rich New York family, moved to England back in the 1930s. She actually became the very first female member of Parliament, as a liberal. One of her peers then was, the imperialist, very conservative, Winston Churchill, not yet Prime Minister. One day they debated furiously over a question before the Parliament, and Astor, out pure frustration in losing the debate, yelled out to Churchill, "If you were my husband, I would put poison in your coffee!!!! Churchill, in his usual calm astute manner, replied, "Madam, if I were married to you, I most assuredly would drink that coffee!!"
Anybody get there first session of 2017 yet? Just got back from mine. Wasn't great but wasn't terrible either. Was big this morning but winds weren't right. They came around by 1 and things cleaned up quick. Unfortunately the swell was dwindling though. But the low tide made for a doable sesh. Feels good to start the new year off with some waves. And what a gorgeous day to. Air in the mid 40s, sun out, was able to change slowly without a shiver.
Waste high and clean in South Jersey this afternoon. Pretty much perfect for the longboard. There were as many waves to ride as my arms had the strength to paddle for. Nice way to start the year.
