'I'm not going to stand up and show pride': San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refuses to stand for national anthem 'to protest oppression of black people'

    Oppressed...?!?!?!??!?!?!?!

This asshat makes unreal money! And sits there & takes a huge ginormous dump on the American people.

Colin Kaepernick signed a 6 year, $114,000,000 contract with the San Francisco 49ers, including a $12,328,766 signing bonus, $61,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $19,000,000.

"Kapernick has an African American father but was raised by a white couple alongside their two children after being put up for adoption"

Maybe I'm wrong, but this seems like one of those moments where one's career completely implodes after an episode like this.

I don't follow football at all, I don't follow any major pro team sports other than hockey. But I remember hearing somewhere that there were already rumors that this guy was out in San Francisco and I know they've missed the playoffs the last few years there and have been a joke for a couple years now. I don't know exactly where this guy ranks among NFL quarterbacks, but if he's not a pretty elite one, this is the kind of move that can be the beginning of the end for him. Especially if he's very average or starts to become very average at his position.

Maybe Tim Tebow can have his job though!

I hate kaepernick. I hate most players who are very average but get treated like there the best thing since sliced bread because of one season.

Did somthing happen that he feels black people are suddenly being oppressed? Or is this just a random act of stupidness

If he feels so oppressed, Get the F out of Merica! The NFL should fine him every time he doesn't stand!

Not saying what he's doing is right, not in the least, but the reason he's doing this is to make a point about police killing black people and getting away with it. It's another BLM type thing.

At the risk of being very un-PC... Black people are the biggest oppressors of black people. Much of which they do to themselves.

Having the liberties and freedom to do such things, doesn't seem so oppressed to me.

He's the oppressor. He's a $19M a year backup QB... He lost the starting job (because he's not any good) and wants to keep his name in the headlines

It is America. He can do as he pleases, and express it as he likes. I don't agree with him, but fortunately, I just don't really care what he says, or who he is, or how much he earns. I always said football is for morons, and this is why.
You all don't want to sound like a bunch of Nazi Brown Shirts now, do you?

Knowing how fuked the PC culture has gotten, he'll probably be invited to the White House for lunch and a photo-op with Obama.

Not to get off topic, but all you liberals who vote Democrat, this is where your civil rights bs is going.
    Orwellian 'newspeak'. 1984 wasn't fiction. It's a blue-print.

You're right arch...relying on all the major media outlets (and I do mean all) for real objective reporting is where it all goes wrong

I don't get how anyone can support the whole black lives matter thing. At least people like NFL players. I agree that athletes shouldn't be role models, but they are. Supporting an organization that openly supports the killings of innocent police officers? This world is a sad sad place. Support black people all you want. Support people who want blood? No. I'd rather have Ray rice beating women then some asshat supporting BLM.
