I was just wondering if anyone had ever sold anything on Etsy.com? or just any experiences from the website. I recently just made a store on the site to maybe try to sell some of my photos from Long Beach Island NJ. Some of you may follow me on Instagram and Facebook and have seen some of my shots, mostly sunsets! If you wouldn't mind checking out my store www.Etsy.com/shop/stayabovetheweather .. that is only a small portion of shots I have taken. did it a little while ago. I realized they charge $.20 just to create a listing on their site then take 3.5% of every sale which doesn't seem to terrible considering they pretty much give you an easy to manage website!
I sell on ETsy @ https://www.etsy.com/people/PhillipTaylorGallery?ref=si_pr I have been selling my art on there for years and its easy and I have had a lot of success. It doesn't cost much and the money is nice. I am starting to do shows and have attracted some gallery interests through ETSY. So the site is good for more than just selling. I have already had galleries buy some of my stuff of the site. I have been very happy dealing with ETSY. My only advice to you is to keep up with it cause they do not notify you when your listings expire and need to be renewed. Good Luck and Be well
I've sold quite a bit of my woodwork on Etsy in the past but haven't in over a year. Definitely stay on top of your listings. Also, you need to learn how to categorize and describe your stuff so it doesn't get lost and buried among all the other sellers. Etsy has gotten really big and it's easy for your stuff to get lost. I've also used artfire.com, but I don't think they will let you sell photos--has to be hand crafted. HTH
