If you would have paddled past me five years ago, Mr. Sniffer, I would have cut ya. Or sodomized you on the beach.

One or the other. Now, I just let it go. But it never happens because I usually hit an empty peak or stay yards away from any pack.

Young surfers, don't paddle-past people or you may get sodomized on the beach by Rob Kelly or Ben Gravy, which would be cool because they are semi-Jersey-surf famous. And, like all women, we all enjoy sodomy by famous people...or rich people...or powerful people.

I'm not a banker idiot. I work in commercial insurance. You know with businesses and contractors like you, except we don't deal with little guys like you, only firms generating $75,000,000 or more a year in revenue.

And it takes you so long to get a mortgage becasue you probably have a sh!tty ass credit score and no disposable income becasue you choose to live near waves vs living where you can get a good job and then being able to travel freely to surf when it's good.

Without a doubt the most Barnyest thing ever said here.
People who do what you claim to do don't post on a surf predicting website all day. They just don't.
You are a Kook of the highest order. You come on this site going right to the forum and never look at the forecast. People who claim to do what you do and like surfing would live by the ocean becuase they could afford it.

    golfer.

That is a good point. Homes are more expensive at the coast. See in my line of work all the large corps are in the cities and not at the beach so it is reversed of the contracting world.

Huh? I never claimed to be a millionaire and could live where I want then tele comute. I work in middle managment for a large commercial insurance brokerage firm. I sit in an office all day so I have a lot of time to use the computer. I get 3 weeks off so I can take off a Tuesday if the waves are good and surf while most others are at work. I do not work on commission so I am not out seeing clients and chasing income. I get a salary and work 8-5 mon-fri and am done when I leave work. No calls on my cell or weekend work.

If you took my post to mean that I am some high powered Exec then that is your fault. I have to be located where my company HQ is since that is my office. At 39 years old I have no desire to be out chasing accounts as a producer like I did in my younger days. Our biggest priducer mad a little over $300,000 last year. He lives in Raleigh and has a beach house for vacation but his clients are located in Raleigh as is any major comapny in NC (except maybe PPD) so he lives here. Living on the road and in airports and hotels is fun in your 20's but once you have a famaily it sucks. In addition my wife has an excellent job here that is not possible at the coast since here Co. HQ is here also. For both of these reasons we decided to stay in Raleigh till retirement then move to whatever beach we want. It's a 2 hour drive to Wilm, I have two friends there whos house has spare bedrooms we can crash in and my folks live in Leland so not really big deal to head down if there is swell.

And yes I am a golfer (that is what helped pay for my college) and the courses are better here than at the coast plus I'm closer to rock climimbing sites and skiing sites as well. Since surfing does not rule my life I actually enjoy living central to all the activities I like. If all you are about is surfing and that is why you live at the beach would you kill your self if you became completly paralyzed and could no longer surf? Would you regret living at the beach if you had to look at waves daily without being able to ride them?

Typical Corporate Flunky. You should be thankful that you're not on commission, because if your income was tied to your work ethic and/or intelligence you'd be on welfare

^ Typical hourly worker response to a corporate salaried worker. Jealous much Davie Boy? You're just dying for the Fed to raise that min wage so McDonalds will have to give you $.10 more per hour huh? Now get your as back to making my lunch flunky.

I worked on commission for 14 years and did pretty darn well. That is how I got into management and will retire between 55-60. How long do you have to be in the fast food industry before you can retire?
