Hi All, I'm sure this is not a new topic or request but I am going to Hawaii for a month, maybe longer (Jan 2013) and want to find a non touristy mellow surf spot that where I can get an apartment for a few weeks. Ideally walk to the break or not too far to drive to other spots. I'm aware that winter swells will mean I can't surf some spots and I'm pretty bush league so need to find mellow. The main spot that keeps coming up is Hanalei Bay in Kauai but looks pretty busy. Does anything think that is a good option? I'm wide open right now, just wanted to check out Hawaii. Any ideas would be awesome!! I'm looking for 2-4 ft if possible. Cheers, Rachel
north sides of the islands get biggest swell this time of year, if your looking for mellow, the south sides would work you...that should at least steer you in the right direction...all depends on what island or islands you are planning to go to...wish i was going!! Got to get back...Maui was incredible!
