Im driving south from md/va border (assateague island va) to florida for 4 days starting thursday. My goal is to find fun surf spots in new towns and ones i have already been. I lived in Cocoa Beach FL and Fort Lauderdale FL for a year so i have been to most spots inbetween there and St Augustine.

Spots i have been to south of assateague va are
Barrier islands off eastern shore va
    Virginia Beach
    Obx
    Emerald Isle nc
    Topsail nc
    St Augustine
    Cocoa Beach
    Sebastion Inlet
    Juno pier
    West Palm
    Boca Raton
    Deerfield
    Ft Lauderdale

From St. Augustine to Topsail nc is undiscovered to me.
I have thought of Folly Beach, Wilmington, Jacksonville fl, and Tybee island GA as a novelty.
Folly Beach im thinking will do good with the north winds or any lower part of sc that will still get swell and offshores.

What new areas would you suggest??? Cool small town vibe also included.

Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach are good spots in Wilmington. Carolina kinda has that small town vibe especially this time of year, there's not as many people around. They are both cool places with plenty of beach to surf.

Also, Jacksonville has several nice spots to choose from. Hannah Park, aka The Poles, is fun. Huguenot Park is an island where you can drive right on the beach. Both are state parks so you have to pay a couple bucks for entry but they are pretty cool places to visit even if the waves aren't firing. I've had great times at both, but if these N winds continue they will likely be sloppy.

Well, OBX south of the Oregon inlet is closed to non 4x4 access, but there are plenty of good spots from Corolla to Nags Head. That being said, right now even though we're getting a good swell, we're also having NE on-shore winds, and it seems it's going to continue that way through Thanksgiving. So I would skip this area and head further south such as Willmington, etc. where the NE wind will be more favorable.
