i will ride anything i can get my hands on
i really enjoy riding my uncles older stuff, not really into shortboarding, my fav board is a 9'6" nose rider and i also really like a 7'6" that's a single fin, if i must go out on a shortboard i recently made a purchase for a 6'8" rounded tail idk if i like the purchase yet i really only had to use it a couple times this fall, winter is approaching though

    5'10,145 lbs, 26 years old

6'1 custom, 35 liters (riding it as a go to board, but planning on copying it into a 5'8/5'10 and dropping it to 30 liters. This boards more of a step up for me)

6'3 single fin. Guessing around 38/40 liters. Fun board for tiny days or those bigger days at higher tides.

9'0 LB. Always got to have a LB

6'6 shelter bonzer. Gets used on those big days.

6'4 HPSB type board. Not sure on volume but it feels pretty low for a 6'4. Don't really use it to much

6'6 cannibal. Only use it once our twice a year. It was my first board ever so I'll never get rid of it.

My quiver is pretty oversized for me. It might take awhile but that 6'1 I'll keep as a step up, make it into a 5'8/5'10 for an everyday SB, and replace the shelter bonzer with a 6'0 version. Than I just need a true small wave SB. The LB and 6'3 single fin I'll keep because there both fun and have there uses. Everything else I'm looking to ditch. But as of now that's what I'm working with. In desperate need of a quiver revamp after losing a decent amount of weight and getting in much better shape.

Hey, no worries on the Bic! I have a 7'6" Ron Jon that I picked up for $150, brand new. I haven't had it out in a while, but it's a fun board. Usually when I take it out, I puff my chest out a little further while I am walking to the water. BWHAHAHAHAHA

5'11 185-190 for fifteen years, in shape, 40, started surfing five years ago.

    9'6" Glider, single fin
    7'0' FCD Huevo Ranchero 2+1
    6'4" CB Bonzer 5

Just starting to get the hang of the bonzer. It needs real waves to go. And I actually like the 7'0" egg more than I thought I would. It's stupid fast.

    Log: 9'8 Brothers Marshall
Step-up: 5'10 Lib-Tech Bowl Series (Looking to get rid of if anyone's interested)
Performance: 5'8 Cloud Nine (Dan Taylor's Burger Beater outline and shape)

Only a couple of times...I've tried my friend's 6'2" WRV (don't know the model) thruster. It's fun when I actually manage to catch a wave but I'm pretty new to the short boarding game so I think I've got a long ways to go before I really think about dropping length/volume.

6'0", 205 47yrs old Good shape but new to surfing on my second year...

    7'6" x 24 x 3.25 Proctor Monsta Chief 70L waist high and up
    7'2" x 23x 3 Joe Blair Quad 60L knee high and up
5'8" x 22 1/4x 2.75 Sweet Potato with FCS Compressor Fin Quad 42L ankle bitters to shoulder high

So my situation is a little different.. when I first started I was on a 7'10" x 25 x 3 3/4 Joe Blair Big Guy Quad at 88 L... Great board, stable and really helped me progress my surfing from Knee high to Head high. But as I progressed I also lost close to 30lbs over the last year so I needed to lose the volume. Still trying to figure out that magical volume number but for all over versatility I caution on the higher side.. The 7'2" Joe Blair is at 60L and I have no problem taking that in most of what we get in New England. The Sweet Potato is a totally different animal all together and even though it is 42L I think that would be too low on another type of shape.. I am guessing my perfect Liter would be around 50-55 at this point of my surfing but again everyone here is diffferent. My advice is to always go bigger on the volume when you are starting out, you will have plenty of newbies to sell them to when you progress... If you are already experienced then step down in volume but PAY ATTENTION to the volume, the shape and any other details you can about the boards and try and ride them in similiar conditions. I keep a spread sheet of every board I have ever surfed and mark the dimensions and also the VOLUME and other comments like tail shape, nose kick, nose shape, concaves etc and write what I like and what I hated. Sounds stupid but when you do that and gather the info and look it all over after about 10 boards or so, you start to see similarities in the volume range, type of board, and shape that you like and what you dont like. Of course this all changes the more time you surf but for me it works and then reevaluate....repeat.

Toofun, I think that is some great advice for somebody just learning liters and how they can affect your learning curve! I am 5'11" 185lbs and I have found my magic liters are 32.5. Although I did just get a 5'10" WRV with only 30 liters and I love it
