I posted this two months ago (9-9-16), the polls changed in that time. Trump went from around a 12% chance of winning to up around 40% over the last two weeks. Had you asked me yesterday I would have told you that it was well within the margin of error for him to win all the swing states and it was essentially a toss up.

To give you an analogy, at that time the 4th qtr had started and Trump was down by 4 touchdowns. Then Hildy fumbled and Trump scored. Then Hildy fumbled again and Trump scored again. And again. As the clock wound down Trump had the ball and was driving for the winning score, and it was anyone's game.

The ironic thing is it's looking like Clinton may actually win the popular vote. Go figure.

Had the polls said yesterday that Trump had no chance and then he blew right past the margin of error I would agree they are BS.

And no, I didn't vote for Hildy.

 

LOL Nice analogy. BTW I'm not giving you a hard time, I just wanted to point out the polls were wrong, as I stated previously. Every channel I turn on they are just baffled at the polls and how wrong they were. I know how they were wrong.... they were manipulated and reported incorrectly to try and sway the public, but we didn't listen.

It's over. Trump is the POTUS, and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do. I didn't even bother to stay up and wait, went to bed early and slept well. Regardless of who won I wasn't going to be celebrating...jumping off a bridge.

Trump has an interesting dilemma now. He rode to victory on the hatred of the guvmint and the status quo and his pitch as on outsider. But you can't get anything done in DC w\o playing along. So will he keep that up? Or turn out to be just another politician? I don't envy his job. In addition to pissing off the liberal media and the Dems he did a good job of pissing off his own party and the conservative media. Tough way to start out. And if he starts playing the game and being a politician, his support base of angry Americans will turn on him as well. Time will tell how all this plays out.

At least we won't have people running around screaming about how it's rigged and shooting people for having a bumper sticker they don't like...I hope.

I did find out one thing, the last month or two while I've pretty much boycotted the internet I've been much more mellow. Only wanted to kill a few people during my commute during that time, whereas it's usually 2-3 per day...each way. I might just have to continue that trend.

 

There are some that are definitely deliberately manipulated, and some that are accurate to a degree. It all comes down to how it was done and the margin of error. If no margin of error is listed, you can be sure they are 100% BS.

 

Not if you are a political strategist trying to figure out where to spend your money. It's why NC got all that wonderful attention the last few weeks from both sides. Oh I wish we could have them fly into RDU and shut down all the highways some more. Such fun. And I'm sad that I don't get to see ad after ad after ad and get 20lbs of paper in my mailbox every day now.

There's a public side to politics and then there's the back end side where everything really happens, and the two are distinctly different.

 

I hear ya dude. Things will settle down now that this is over though. People just need to get it out of their system and then it will be business as usual for the most part. Glad to see you having an open mind about it all. More people I hope see the positives in this, it's exciting for a lot of people. I think he'll be able to get cooperation with the house and senate both being republican majority.
