Haha, right on guys. It's not really better or worse, it's just different. There is no denying that. There are so many more users here, its just a bigger pool of people now. And with that, came some characters that we never had before. The people who are only on this site to engage in conflict and rarely provide any solid contributions or stoke to anyone.

This is why I am glad to see Matt back on here. He was an OG and about the time when he left, is when the troll influx first started. People started piling on Matt for whatever reason for helping Micah. All Matt ever did was shoot the sh** with the rest of us about waves, skating, wetsuits and anything Cape May.... It's a shame that the trolls got to him, but good to have him back. We need more Matt Johnsons and less trolls.

There are plenty of awesome new members, SS and SUP included. But along with every good character, there are quite a few shady ones that slip in through the back door.

This is the internet though, that is what happens. erBB or whatever you guys call the surfer mag forums.... Same deal. Originally, it was a forum that was really educational, the topics were great and the more and more people that joined, the more down hill it got. I don't even visit the place anymore. Its just people flaming each other all over the place.

I re-posted my first post a few months back. SS, you read it. I stumbled upon this place because I was looking for guys to talk to about relocating back east to a surf location... Had I posted exactly what I posted then, I would have been hit with a flame thrower right off the bat. Stay in California kook. New Jersey Sucks.... Florida and SC suck!!! yada yada yada... But in 2009, i received page after page after page of local knowledge and great information... My inbox was full for years with "Coming to SD. Want to surf?" and "flying out west, need some tips".... yada yada.... I used to tell people, via PM every bit of knowledge I had about any spot. Now, you get the "Im not telling you sh**, you aren't about to crown my spot on your 1 week stay".....

Just different bros.... so very different.

Super Random....but, if your winter suit of choice is still a Hyperflex Flow, they seem to have cut them from their lineup, but a few spots have leftovers really cheap right now. Probably been sitting in storage for a while, so it's a bit of a risk, but $170 shipped for a 6mil was worth the risk for me.

and how many westsuit/wax/apparel/gear threads do you want? making fun of people has been a mainstay of any group, do you want a sanitized version of wetsuit threads and listening to people claim how good the 3rd worst spot (FL) on the east coast is?

Agreed, stupid threads asking people to PM you because you are bored is an example of a BS thread, glad Micah shut that one down quickly, just murks up the waters having those type of threads.

 

Matt could you please tell me what the best wetsuit to wear on January 14th of the upcoming year would be. Let us assume a water and air temperature of 46 / 35 respectively. Here's the caveat, no Hyperflex allowed.
